i agree with DV, u cant class Peacock as injury prone cos he isnt 'prone' to injuries, he just had a injury at the end of last season which hasnt cleared up yet.

he has had all pre season to rest dv. and although i dont think he was injury prone. i think he has become so.
agree about barry corr.and also agree we will miss peacock as he is a valuable squad member

And that just goes to show the real quality of this side. If we miss Peacock that much then another mid table finish is the best we can expect. The bloke is a very limited footballer, here I was hoping that we might actually start playing some decent football in the coming months.

Peacock is quite capable of playing decent football on the deck. Infact when playing in midfield I'd go as far as to say he was probably our best passer of the ball.
I fail to see how playing Peacock would translate to us not playing decent football?
...also, if we win I dont fucking care!

Not a great fan of Peacock,though he has a bit of quality about him in flashes,dont think we will miss him because its a new start and any one player being unfit isnt no great shakes,none of them are that influential that it makes a great difference...Cox being unfit would be my main concern.

u need the likes of Peacock in your team, the two best 'footballing' centre mids are Chrissy Allen and Timlin, they get destroyed playing together, u need a balance, a ball winner and a 'footballer'. so one of either Peacock or Easton and either Chrissy or Timlin |

as he is versatile. he can do a few roles pretty well when need be.
thats why he is valuable to the squad.
if fit i think its a toss up between him and paynter to partner cox.and when corr is fit i'd pick him over both of them.
when easton-timlin get injured,knackered,suspended. peacock will do a decent job in the middle of the park.

Well that's where I'm sure we've disagreed before DV. This probably goes back to the days when we were playing some of the best football in the country competing against sides like Cambridge who were playing win at all costs football. Not interested in that to be honest, I want us to play decent football, then results will follow. |

Fair enough DV, each to their own. I can honestly say that the happiest I felt all season (leaving the CG) was after the Carlisle match, when we ripped them to shreds, okay we didn't win, but you could see that the team were starting to understand what MM is trying to achieve, the football we played that day was superb. Performance was great, result was not, still made me happy and proud of the team/management/club. |

Same here in a way, same as that Sheffield Wednesday match all those years ago.... However, if we'd playing crap football and beat Carlisle 3-1 I would have been even happier.... |
