Now there is a suprise Peacock injured or carrying a knock.Cant see him playing much this year to be honest anyway but still shit as he is probably the only decent midfield cover we got.

He'll be out a while as he has achilles problems, and if he needs surgery he will be in plaster for 3 months and out for a couple more on top. It probably will be an op as once they go very hard to keep in check with physio.

Not the worst news, hopefully we can play on technically better players than reply on plodders like Peacock this season.  Very intelligent player, he knows exactly how to get the fans on side and plays to it.  Timlin is a far superior player to Peacock.

Watch him slide to stop the ball from going out for a throw in on the halfway line, all very unimportant stuff.

Having said that though, I do agree to a certain extent with your "he is probably the only decent midfield cover we got" comment.  I think Allen's got potential and is progressing well, but Peacock is not a bad player to have as cover.  But like I said I would prefer to get someone else in and let LP go.

peacock is now clearly an injury prone player.his age is against him so it wont improve imo.
that said i think janaage has been a bit harsh on the bloke.
if he didn't go for the ball to keep it in play, he'd get slated.nothing to do with playing to the fans.it is better to have the ball at your feet, simple as.
i've been critical of the bloke, but he rolls his socks up and gives his all.
hopefully he can get fit, as he is a valuable squad member if not an auto starter.

Injury prone player who played 41 games last season?

Only Ifil (43) JPM (46) Comminges (47) and Aljofree (44) played more....

he hobbled off a few times didn't he? and was crocked towards the seasons end.he aint got over it,it seems. so he looks injury prone to me nowadays.
i could have it completely wrong, and hope i have.its' just the way it looks to me dv

Malpas has said that Peacock is a striker, hopefully Paynter and Cox have a flying start to the season, and Corr (when fit) will be the cover for the 2 forwards and Peacock cover for Easton and Timlin, Peacock is mint just Easton and Timlin have a bit more

As far as Malpas is concerned positions wise Peacock has been counted as a striker, hence all the reference to him being up against Paynter for a start.  Only think we'll see him in midfield if theres injuries.

I wouldnt say he was injury prone, because that to me means he's out injured all the time and only makes a handful of appearences all season and when he does he quickly gets injured again.

Barry Corr is injury prone.

Peacock, to me it seems just hasnt rested enough for all his little niggles to go away. I of course could be totally wrong.

However, I think we are a better side with Peacock on it and would miss him if he was out injured for a lengthly spell.
