I'm buying one this weekend, does anyone have any recommendations? Looking at 26 to 32", budget about £550.

I've been looking at a Panasonic TH42PX80. Looks a right bargain for just over £600. Good reviews too.

If you want plasma then get a Panasonic, if you want LCD then get a Samsung.

I've got a TH42PX60 (old model), had a couple of purple snake issues (don't ask, fixed in later models) but largely it has been excellent and when I upgrade to a full 1080 set I would definitely look at Panasonic first.

I recently bought a sony 40", & am happy with it. panasonic has a good name too. I went into the local Comet & looked around & got their best price which was about £950. I then went online & got the same Tv for £650 plus £70 delivery. The following week Comet were advertising it in their easter sale at £750. I would therefore suggest that you decide on the make & model then shop around.

And also, if you can find it cheaper in a physical shop John Lewis used to price match, assume they still do. The advantage being JL provide a 5 year guarantee for free.

if you want plasma then panasonic is best. if you want lcd again panasonic is best. i own the 32 inch lxd70 which a few months ago was the best 32 inch on the market. it comes in a 26 inch model which is equally as good.i bought my 32 inch online for £549 as it was £800 in currys. there are newer versions with built in freesat but will exceed your budget.
phil s is spot on.choose the model then find the best price online. i bought mine from laskeys who delivered free.
google lxd70 or go to av forums and check out what they say about the pannys. i did and made my choice after much research. the cheaper version and less then £500 is the lmd series but this doesn't have 100htz processing.a good tv nonetheless mind.
if you dont go with a panasonic then sony is the next best, followed by samsung.

I've got a 32" Samsung and it is realyl nice, there are some good deals on the web, especially if you find the discount codes for Currys / Dixons
