Congrats.

Firstly it's clearly your Mrs fault for saying yes. She should have played the headache card.

Secondly, don't hold your baby over your head while lying on a sofa. Particularly if the have eaten less than 30 minutes previous. And definitely not while making a "weeeeeee" sound whilst jiggling him/her up and down, no matter how much baby is smiling. A mouth full of baby sick is not recommend

Thirdly there is no instruction manual for babies. Mother nature didn't think that one through. But all the worries of sleepless nights, dirty nappies, etc, etc aren't as bad as you'd think. You get through it.

Lastly, enjoy it. When they say time flies they mean it.

Only tips i can give are, choose the side of the bed furthest from the door, and never be afraid to "play possum" when they wake up at 3am.

Think it's a bit inevitable that the whole period of time involving pregnancy, the consequences of child birth and being a new mother, take a physical toll on a woman, which is why I'd recommend to a fella that he puts himself about a bit and doesn't take on fatherhood until at least late 20's or even as in my case early 30's

i was a dad at 21 and my mrs had just turned 19.we had only been together a few months and it was tough for a while.but we are still together.our kids are growing up fast, and we are still both young and have a fantasic social life and active kids.
there are benefits and pit falls to whatever age you have children i reckon
