SWINDON Town have teamed up with Britain's biggest selling monthly football magazine as they continue their bid to spread the 'Swindon Town' brand across the world.

FourFourTwo has signed its first ever shirt sponsorship deal with a football club, with Town confident the coup can lead to some exciting future commercial opportunities.

A three-year deal has been agreed, with a one-year review option, with Town claiming other short term financially better deals were not as attractive as the partnership with FourFourTwo.

Town will carry the brand on their shirts next season while the County Ground outfit will feature extensively in the magazine's pages and on its newly revamped website.

Town chief executive Nick Watkins said: "We see this as a long term sustainable partnership that will provide some very exciting opportunities both nationally and internationally.

"Any short term financial gain is far far outweighed by this deal which will generate some real commercial opportunities.

"We hope the fans are excited by this news because this deal is breaking new ground for the magazine."

Sounds like a good fit to me!

Though I'd imagine Malpas will be looking for the magazine to change its name to fourthreeoneoneone Smiley

Very clever deal - shows some real long-term thinking and genuinely impressive compared to the "get as much as you can (ie not very much) and sod the partnership" approach of recent years. Blimey, it's like being a proper football club!

Will the Swindon squad be the double page spred in the middle for the next addition?

Makes us look a lot more of a professional outfit with a well known sponsor, great news.

Fitton indicated at the Fans Forum that this woulkd be looked at but because of the contact with Brunel I dont think he could actually come straight out and say, Brunel are pants we are going back to the beeb.

I **think** he was also hinting that it isn't straight forward for BBC RS to get their funding back to cover live games. Did speak volumes to me that the BBC covered the fans forum and not Brunel.
