Probably been said before on here but  i think its time this lot were looked at.Now ime not a Bristol City admirer but again the fans have been shit on,a certain amount sold by the club and the rest handed over to Ticketmaster for them to sell online. The playoff final is there biggest match ever probably.Lots of fans wont have access to a computer or credit card so wont have a chance of getting a ticket v Hull City. Why are these tickets handed over to agencies who make big bucks its not fair and the clubs who do it are not giving a dam about the fans as usuall.

From what I've read, City don't have the facilities to sell 40,000 tickets in such a short space of time. Hence it going to Ticketmaster. Other clubs who have the infrastructure for such events like Leeds have sold them themselves

That's what's implied on their official site as well

Can you imagine our box office trying to sell 23,000 tickets in a day?

They don't need to sell them in a day, they've got a week.

I remember when we did sell 30,000 tickets through the club ticket office: season ticket holders one day, four vouchers the next, then three, then two etc. I travelled down from London on the appropriate day and strolled up to the ticket window with barely a queue.

If we managed to do it ourselves in 1993, then the slavetraders should be able to do it in 2008.  So, we should be able to do it ourselves for next years play-off final  Wink

Play-offs? Get bent. Either we win the league or Malpas out.

I hate ticketmaster. They are touts themselves. They keep tickets behind for themselves and other authorized touting agencies and they are easy prey for unlicensed touts.

You cant beat the old way. All hands on deck down the ticket office. Big queue. Season ticket holders, then stub holders.

What I hate most about ticket agencies are the booking fees. If they can sell that many in 20 minutes then they've made a rediculous profit.

I notice some charge you a booking fee per ticket and then a transaction fee on top. That is downright scandalous.

In Vancouver a few years back we went to the venue where The Strokes were playing that night to buy tickets. We were redirected to the Ticketmaster window at the ice hockey stadium as the venue wasn't allowed to sell tickets to its own shows. We were then charged a booking fee. Pearl Jam fought that fight and lost back in the mid-1990s.

The FA uses Ticketmaster to sell tickets to England games now, including away games, which is something they used to handle themselves. I think it will become more and more prevelant.

I heard that they kept 2,000 back to sell to "selected supporters groups". I assumed that that was for their supporters club & Trust members.

Hah! No chance - although full credit, I've never seen "selected supporters groups" used as a euphemism for "semi-legalised touts" before
