They've signed players whose names I've heard before.

Whereas I had heard of, and was very keen on, Thorpe, Cureton and Prutton.

Yet another reason why nobody really knows how well we, or Rovers, will do.

What I mean is that they've signed players with good lower league records.

Rovers have signed a load of players who on their day are decent, but are often inconsistent.   Which is why they are playing in League 2.

Ayinsah and Zebroski are good examples.  Both played at a higher level but didn't deliver regularly.  Moved to League 2 and look better at that level....

I know its not us but Stockport have just bid for Ryan Lowe of Bury who scored 30 odd last season. Where have they suddenly found the money to bid for him?

And more importantly why would he move from League 1 to the Blue Square Prem?

I have been impressed with Rovers' signings, but then like Nemo said earlier, i was impressed when we got Cureton and Prutton in the past. I'd like to have seen a couple of them here, and i don't think it's a case of us not thinking they're good enough, i think since Devera and Smith, we've just ignored the English free agents for some reason. although it worries me a bit, i guess we can't tell just how good or bad our signings will be.
