I always like firing out the fact that Matthew Taylor won the FA Trophy with Burscough as a goalkeeper as a nice bit of trivia.

I wonder how Exeter will get on without Taylor at the back, Harley in midfielder and Cureton's goals up front?

How about Peter Leven? would be on good wages but has just been freed by MKDongs, a bit injury prone but a good player none the less.

Imagine Leven would have lots of league one teams after him as he is quality, but if we could get him that would be a really good coup and a sign of our intention

Leven in a Town team would be a tough player for me to support,  that cunt missed the decisive penalty in the Division One play-off final for me in Football Manager 2009. We lost 5-4 to Peterborough.

Never forgiven him.

It seems his career dived a bit when he left this country to Play in the Turkish prem (For Mersin) but following on from there he went to… wait for it… Azerbaijan, their second division with Gabala (Tony Adams is there manager).

His link with Forest Green is through David Hockaday, he was his coach at Watford. His been after him for the last nine months. Apparently he preferred stability at FGR in a two year deal, rather than try his luck in trials with Charlton and Notts County. So all in all not too much of a shock. But I do expect he’ll be on a descent amount. Potentially if he recaptured his Championship form when wining promotion to the premiership with Watford and the same while at Blackpool, he could be a worthwhile investment, not to mention getting us up the league for a change in the mean time.

With FGR now stabilised financially were hoping to sign two or three more players in the next few months to make a real difference to our league aspirations. But not anywhere on the same scale as Creepy Crawley. We have as modest budget and will stick to it.

Stroud and Swindon - I come on here to get away from my employers!

While we're on FGR. I played cricket today with a Forest Green Rovers fan wearing a Chris Allen worn matchshirt with number 30 on his back! How's he getting on? and he spoke very well about Jonathan Smith.

Jonathon Smith is a quiet understated kind of lad, but he’s got the determination (and aggression) and more importantly the vision and awareness of a league player. He was a big favourite at FGR and York fans were sad to see him go to, so he must have made progress with them. He’s got a sweet right foot and is capable of scoring great goals from outside the box. He might not be in the first eleven immediately but if given a chance he’ll take it.

Chris Allen played the last two or three games last season, before that he only had a few starts. Young lads seldom get the chance to bed in when the team is always fighting relegation. Not ideal for him. This term he might get a better opportunity to show what he can do and not feel he’s letting the side down if we don’t win with him in the team. He’s a prospect, he’s defiantly got something, and he’s well liked by the supporters which helps.

A player i would like to see down the County Ground if we could get hold of him is a young Tunisian Tijani Behlaid saw him play a couple of times for Hull City, although pretty light weight he is pretty quick and a good crosser and corner taker and can play on the right, has scored a few goals for previous clubs too.

No... Leon Knight on a 5 year deal along with lifetime supply of Gucci sunglasses, David Duke as the new ball boy,  Lloyd Opara as the new tea lady and Ryan Giggs as the new relationship counsellor
