Don't think so but seems like he is off to someone in our league so should imagine we would be ok in matching what they offer

How about Ivar Ingimarsson as an experianced centre back?
Released by Reading last week and still only 33. Would be a bit deja vue after Adie Williams did a similar job for us the last time we went down a league. Not the same type of centre half but would have the knowhow if he stayed fit.

I saw Crawley were after him, they are offering wages that i dont think we would be stupid enough to match.

Seems about 4/5 league2 teams are in for that Clayton Donaldson. Would love to see us try and sign him
Going to Bradford apparently, they want him, he wants them as they are his hometown team, that said they are skint as fuck.

I wonder how Crawley are going to get around the wage cap of 60% of turnover- considering that their average crowds are around 2500 and ground capacity only 4996?

he doesnt seem to have settled well so far down here hasn't had a chance, if you scored 15 goals for a club gunning for promotion expecting to get a shot in a higher division, Upped house to come to a bigger club, get injured, not be given a chance because the manager was a negative cunt you would be a bit pissed off too! Dont think its anything to do with being settled. He has gone from a team in L2 high on confidence in the playoffs to a team that got relegated from L1 low on confidence so he is probably worse off now than last season in fairness from his personal standpoint.

There are a few other ways around this, one of which is to give the players performance related bonuses which are not wage related, this was the way that Notts County got around it apparently, you play 10 games and get a bonus of xamount of your weekly wage etc etc. As for Clayton Donaldson I have read contradicting things that he is out of contract now and also that he has 1 more year to run, either way Crewe have offered him a new contract but he has not signed it, yet, and is actively looking for a move on higher wages. He would fit in well in our team and is a good goalscorer but would he move to us in the South? I do know that there is no way Bradford could offer him the wages that we could and TBH he should be looking for a higher reputation team than Bradford, or with a much better chance of promotion than them.

Paolo wants his players all there for pre season (something we say should be done every season!) but that leaves what three weeks now. Hope things get exciting soon, my optimism has dropped some and need some incomings to get excited about the season again.

Agree to an extent but there will be signings. It's just a case of being patient as ever. Every manager says they want their players in by the time training starts. It ever happens.

MacDonald scored 25 goals for Gillingham last season. Blimey didn't realise that. Wouldn't be a bad signing there.
