Benyon has never impressed me - as long as we get back what we paid for him

Yeah rubbish 15 goals in League Two prior to February.... I would look to keep, he knows where the back of the net is in L2.

He's never had a good game for us it has to be said.

But from his record  I agree with Gazza, he can score goals. Not sure he can do much else mind Smiley

How often have you seen him play?!

Wasn't he on 14 goals half way through the last league two campaign he played in?

Was he ever given a fair chance ?

Injured during Wilson's tenure and out of favour with Hart, who quite clearly wanted his own man in there

No news under our current board always makes me a bit nervous due to the amount of slow transfer progress we experienced under Malpas and Wilson.

If Benyon goes, he goes. I'm sure he'll get his chance if he wants it.

(Forgive me as I know it's only early June, one signing would ease my fears)

Because he has been given a fair chance hasn't he!?

Anyone wanting rid of Benyon after a handful of first team games in a piss poor side is an idiot.

I would like to see more of Benyon, but I wouldn't be overly bothered if he goes.

What does concern me is that we've (reportedly) paid substantial transfer fees for the likes of Benyon and Cuthbert and we're willing to let them go relatively easily.

Maybe the board recognise their cock-up and are taking the financial hit for it? Who knows.

No he hasn't, he's barely had a run in a team- let alone one capable of providing him with the type of chances. I'd keep him.

But I can see why Fatters hasn't been impressed with what he's seen so far.

never said I wanted to get rid of him but if we are offered more money than we paid I wouldnt be fussed. His record in L2 last season was quite good but he doesnt seem to have settled well so far down here - not helped by injuries and Hart ..

but I wouldnt be that sad to see him go if he did

We would not be offered more money as he hasn't been able to show anything for us so far, if anything we may get our money back that has been paid for him

Orient would be an escape route for him if he didn't feel he was going to be first choice here, I suspect it is his decision to stay or go, I'd like him to stay he knows where the net is.

I think Benyon was a panic buy from Wilson as we had missed out on others.
Having said that he has never had a run in the team or been fit since he has been here, I was on holiday for our last two games of the season so didn't get a chance to see him, but others have told me he did ok in those games. 14 goals in half a season at Torquay isn't too shabby either.

From what I have seen of him, he looks a bit like a fox in the box type striker. Think he could well do well in League 2 if we can provide him with the ammunition which was sadly lacking last year

Seems about 4/5 league2 teams are in for that Clayton Donaldson. Would love to see us try and sign him
