On another note someone very brave has put their name next to his rumour:

"From dave warren @ stfc.

swindon want to sign hereford's striker mathieu manset."

Anyone know of him or the player in question?

nice finish. but I'm never one for watching a single clip of a player and then saying he's amazing (Pericards' scorpion kick against Saints!! a lot thought he was perfect for us when they saw that clip!!)-but as you said big unit and could be the aerial threat we need.

i'm going to stick my neck out and demand that we sign him, and that he scores that exact goal every game

8 Clubs chase Manset
Sky Sports is reporting that 8 clubs are chasing Bulls striker Mathieu Manset.

QPR, Bolton, Everton, Crystal Palace, Burnley, Southampton, Charlton, and Bournemouth are all claimed to be keen on the Frenchman who has scored 12 goals in the last 15 games.

The 21 year old was rejected by Blackburn before joining the Bulls.

I think we can rule this one out!!!

Interesting considering that website is 99.9% bollocks!! Maybe we should take the Swindon rumours a little more seriously if that's the case with the position Dave Warren has at the club.

I believe his title is something like "Football Development Officer" but it's entirely immaterial as anyone can put his name next to a rumour, just as easily as I can say that I've spoken to Paul Bodin about Austin's transfer whereas in reality I've never met the man. If Warren was really posting this stuff I'd be stunned, as I can't imagine any sane person would put their job on the line in order to spout crap rumours on the internet.

It looks like Flint is joining us  according to teh Colchester paper : -


SWINDON Town have beaten Colchester United to the signing of highly-rated non-league defender Aden Flint.

The Us were the first club to have a bid for the 21-year-old centre-back accepted – believed to be £150,000 – from Blue Square North side Alfreton Town.

But after meeting Colchester chairman Robbie Cowling and manager John Ward on Wednesday, League One rivals Swindon Town made a late move.

And having visited the Wiltshire club yesterday, Flint informed the U’s via e-mail late last night that he would be signing for the Robins.

Swindon have an obvious link to the player as manager Danny Wilson’s son Laurie plays for high-flying Derbyshire side Alfreton.

“It’s a shame because we were there first but other clubs have obviously been alerted,” said Ward, who has already signed two players from non-league with some success this season in the form of Andy Bond (Barrow) and Ben Coker (Bury Town).

“We’re disappointed because we think he’s going to be a good player, but we’ll move on now.
