added to the fact before they signed for us Cox had scored 3 in 8 for Northampton. Paynter had got 4 in 15 for Bradford and Parkin had scored goals on loan at Millwall, Oldham and Wycombe.

To be picky, he'd scored 0 in 8 appearances for Wycombe! (But he had 4 in 7 for Millwall, 3 in 7 for Oldham and a less impressive 4 in 40 for Northampton.

That does not make them prolific Dave. You are wrong. But any way, as you said, that's not the point you were making so let's move on!

hardly prolific. If this is the best we can do to replace 30 goals then we are in serious trouble

No, it doesnt but the way you go on you'd think they'd never scored a goal in their life before they got here and we have the magic ability to turn any striker into a goal machine and its all down to us and we can do it for any striker we sign.

Dave, the way you go on you seem to think that there is a pool of brilliant, unattached players - top defenders and goalcorers - sitting around waiting for Danny Wilson to give them a ring, but he is ignoring them just to spite you. If a striker ha a great goalscoring track record, clubs bigger than us will be going for them, and we won't get them.

I never said anything like that in the slightest. I said Gow had a poor scoring record because he does. I also questioned which wing he played on because I was under the impression he has spent alot of his career on the wing and we could do with a left winger. OST bought all the other crap up but hey Dave posted it, so it must be negative depressing etc etc

I'd imagine it'll be as a winger more than a striker but back up in case we get a few injuries upfront. This singing wouldn't really bother me much. The only issue I have is that CB is the priority or at least it should be.

I wasn't having a go at all Dave. My point, which got completely lost, is that at various times, certain 'standard' conversations occur. Like in this case, we show an interest in a striker. Invariably, that striker will not be 'prolific' (as you quite righly pointed out, nothing wrong with that) Every time some one does point that out, some one else comes out with the old, "Yes, but neither were Cox/Parkin/Paynter" chestnut. I was just trying to point out that there are certain recurring themes on this forum. That was my real point. I guess it didn't come accross like that.

Nah, I understood that. I just used crap as in 'nothing to do with my original point' rather than crap 'thats what OST was talking'

Thats my point!
RS stating that he is due at Swindon today and St Mirren also saying the same.
Remember St Mirren fans slagging off the Town when Cuthbert choose us over them. We're fast becoming their Huddersfield.
