DeMerit needs a club, if he doesn't want to return to the USA then I don't see this as an unrealistic rumour.
It wasn't so long ago that he was playing for Northwood.

Doesn't seem to be in a position where he can be too fussy about divisions and wages.

We were 'linked' with DeMerit in the summer I believe. Whatever the fuck that means. Would be a great signing though, and not beyond the bounds of possibility by any means.
