Probably coming in for Greer.

Though it seems far too coincidental that it was put on football rumours at 14:52pm, only 3 hours after the story about Greer first made it into their local paper...

Released Watford FC defender Jay DeMeritt to sign for Swindon Town after the World Cup. The American has agreed provisional terms while in South Africa.

It doesn't take  to work out that it's just as likely to be a consequence of the Albion one, than a cause! ;-)

haha, Jay DeMeritt. All it takes is a half decent showing at the World Cup and he gets a gig at a top tier team somewhere in Europe or even MLS. No way he'd come here. The BS rumours have to be believable at least!

Back in 2007 I did my dissertation on football in the USA and sent Q&As to as many Americans based in Europe as I could... DeMerit replied within a week writing in some depth. I've always liked him Smiley

I have to ask Rich, what was the degree course that you took - people will say I'm being sarcastic, but I'd actually really like to read your dissertation.  I've always thought football in the US to be a fascinating subject.

Anyone heard of Jamie Hammond of Cheltenham Saracens?

Football Rumours (yes, I know its bollocks) saying we're signing him.

But, he scored 39 goals in 36 games last season in the Hellenic West. Charlie Austin MKII?

They're also linking another 3 Celtic players with us; Josh Thompson, Cillian Sheridan and Graham Carey.

I'd be up for reading that too.

We are going to be linked with every non-league/pub player in existence after the success with Charlie.

Think Josh Thompson is a Centre Back although I could be totally wrong. Cillian Sheridan is a big striker who I think was on loan at Plymouth last season and did bog all. No idea who Carey is.

I saw Thompson play for Celtic against Ross County Scots Cup Semi-Final-- he looked terrible and was at fault for at least one of Ross' goals, he then made another howler in their next SPL game (against Mothernock or Kilmarwell or one of the Dee Duns., before scoring twice to win the game for them.

Sheridan is a big bustling striker with a Toblerone shaped foot.  He recently played for Ireland against Paraguay and Algeria, both as a sub.
