I don't think Fitton will sell for less than £2.5million that's just my opinion, Maybe he would accept £2million but i think if someone offered £2.5million it would be very hard to turn down.

As for clubs paying that kind of money i don't think many championship teams would except for maybe Forest, Middlesbrough and the recently relegated teams from the prem, Newcastle have been tracking him for months and would have no problem forking out that kind of money.

I've said it so many times. How on earth is Charlie Austin worth £2.5m?

Would you rather we sold him for £1million-£1.5million? Do you really think Fitton would sell him that cheaply?

No one is saying he's worth that in the strictest sense but that isn't relevant, what's relevant is how much we'd sell him for. Austin is young, has a couple of years left on his contract and will play a major role in us pushing for promotion next season, so why would we sell him for under £2m over the summer? If someone wants to offer crazy money then fine, but otherwise there is no need or point in selling him.

Adam Chapman of Oxford has signed a 2 and a half year deal at Young Offenders Institute FC. With a clause to be a able to be released after 15 months.

Stupid cunt, texting while driving and takes someone out.

Is it wrong to have already made up a song about it?

I'd be livid if we sold Austin for less than 2m.

He just hit 20 goals in his first season, is a vital part of our side, is only 20 and has 2 years left on his contract.

I find it very hard to put a valuation on players - I always have.  Your stats are of course correct - but how does that correlate to 2 million, as opposed to 1.75 million or 2.5 million?

In normal market places - e.g. housing - you can track a pattern - with footballers you can't.

N.B.  I think we shouldn't accept anything less that £1,845,278.

I generally think the main factor is contract length.

The exact same player with 2 years left is worth more than if he only had one year left.

We got 1.9m for Cox, he scored more than Austin granted but was older and only had a year left.

Austin is less proven but has longer to run. All in all in my opinion that makes them even value.

To be honest I think we should reject any offer for Charlie this summer. Promotion is more important this time I think. We couldn't hold Cox back last summer. He proved himself and wanted to play at a higher level which he deserved. This time we have a lad that is very good but still willing to play for us and prove himself with a full season at this level. If we're serious about promotion we need to keep him it's as simple as that. So for me it's a no to any offer. Wonder if we'll be tempted by anything over £1.5 million though? I guess it depends which way the board see it.

Sound argument - I like it.

Depends what it says...

Urm. I'm not exactly proud of myself and it's probably shit anyway. It's not horrendous, I mean it's bad enough considering the source material.

What's that coming over the hill?

No amusement whatsoever, purely to wind up pox, only to be sung vs them. But whatever.
