Can't see us paying for a 29year old who last season played at the highlest level of his career in league two!

Benson scored 6 league goals in his first FL season but followed it up with over 20 in his second campaign. If we signed such a player it really could go either way.

Benson smells like a wet dog to me.  I think he'd be useful but I cannot see him being any better than Peacock over a long campaign.

His record is superb and 20 goals is not to be sniffed at but even with the gap between league one and two narrowing the step-up would be a difficult one at that age.

Plus for that fee you want a prospect or someone who will definately provide a return.  If you want an oldie you pick your cherries from higher up the tree a la Moooooney...

The same Warren Feeney that Leeds rejected because he wants too much wages...I think not.

Leeds fans seem to think they have a very low budget this year JJ

Alas, Leeds can still attract a decent standard at this level regardless of budget.

Not Town related but Jason Scotland is signing for Wigan, for 2 million. Makes the Cox deal pretty good from our perspective, surely 2 million is too low for someone who has been pretty good in the Championship I woud have thought!

It'll be interesting to see how much Leeds extract for Beckford and Rovers for Lambert-assuming either leaves of course.

Given the Cox/Scotland fees I' imagine they'll do well to go for much over the £1m.

I was thinking this. Beckford has never really impressed me and he reminds me of a Parkin sort of player, in that he's not bursting with talent, just happens to get in the right place at the right time. I reckon Beckford's scoring exploits will end if he moves up a level.

With regard to Lambert i've said it before - who in their right mind would pay £1m for a 27 year old fat cunt? I do think he's got more natural talent than Beckford, like Cox does, but Lambert cutting the mustard in the league above, is a step to far imo.

Its all about pace when you go up a level which is probably why Beckford will be worth more than Cox and why nobody above league one wants Lambert

A co-worker who supports Bristol City says we have offered £300,000 for Lee Trundle. I think its rubbish and don’t know if he would do a job here anyway. I did laugh.

I've been waiting for the Trundle rumour all summer. I dont think it would take 300k as he is well down the pecking order at their place. Scored a lot of goals in this league before, but dont see him and Paytner as a partnership.
