Hate to say it but I don't think I've heard these sorts of descriptions since Jon Stevenson was released by Leicester.
That said, there's nothing better than signing strikers and a Watford fan at work can't believe they're selling the bloke.

I wonder if this means a deal for Cox is imminent?
Not really. Remember we do only have Cox & Paynter for the striker positions. Robinson would make it three,so we still need another one.

Was Matt Richards playing for Brighton when we played them around Christmas? Name rings a bell.

I meant more from the point of view of us paying for someone. Where is the cash coming from if its not from selling Cox? I don't believe Fitton would be coughing it up unless he knew there was some cash coming in soon.

He's always said if a young talented player becomes available that should make us money he'll invest, ala Cox, and Mulgrew. he's been pretty spot on so far.

The way I understood it, money would be made available for transfers if it was deemed appropriate - so not going around splashing the cash willy-nilly, but if the target is considered to be a significant improvement to the overall cause of the team then money would be made available.

What mrreeves said. Its the same argument from where the money is from for the pitch refurbishment, and where the money came from when we bought cox, from what i remember we didnt sell anybody did we when we bought cox? it seems the board's got money to use,but not to burn. Also the lack of wages that will have to be payed over summer due to the contract terminations will provide some income

I'd agree, that's always been my understanding but I just had a vibe about this - that they're signing him as Cox is on his way. Plus the club keep giving mixed signals, not long ago they were making out that they had the right size squad now and players would have to leave before more were brought in. Its also a good point that we're down two strikers at present, not including Cox if he goes, though I just assumed we'd be getting some in on freebies.
