The old Scott Murray debate will start again then... he wants to stay local...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/bristol_city/8038049.stm

Out-of-contract midfielder Scott Murray expects to leave Bristol City after more than a decade at the club.

The 34-year-old played just three games this season to take his tally to 427.

"In my heart I'd love to stay for another year but in my head I know I'll probably end up playing somewhere else next year," he told BBC Radio Bristol.

"I'd like to stay local, but if I have to go abroad for a season or so then I'll do it. I have had a query from China and Australia as well."

Exeter, Yeovil, Cheltenham.

We've tried wooing him in the last couple of years and he's had none of it. Plus he's mid-30's crock.

Will anyone from this little lot out of contract at the Poooooooool catch DW's eye?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/h/hartlepool_united/8038736.stm

Quote
Hartlepool United have released five players after their contracts expired.

The players to depart are goalkeepers Jan Budtz and Arran Lee-Barratt, defenders Jamie McCunnie and Joe Tait and midfielder Martin Young.

Out-of-contract players Willie Bolland and Rune Lange are being monitored as they recover from injury before a decision is made on their futures.

Meanwhile Pools have offered a new deal to midfielder Richie Jones, after his first season at Victoria Park.

The other players to be offered new deals are captain Michael Nelson, midfielders Matty Robson, Gary Liddle and Andy Monkhouse, and strikers Michael Mackay and Matty Tymon.

Chris Turner is confident Nelson and Monkhouse will sign new deals but we've heard that all before!

Published: 07/05/2009

Swindon have targeted St Johnstone defender Gary Irvine. The 24-year-old’s contract at McDiarmid Park expires at the end of the season and although he is in talks with the Division 1 champions, the English League 1 side is interested in taking him down south

That sounds like a fast show euphemism - "Does he take it down south?"

I reckon Ricketss could replace Cox.....loads of 'pace' and maybe the only way of stopping the fat cunt from scoring against us. Yes

We need players who will improve the squad, ideally from the championship.
