Dw will probably have had the heads up on the locals being released, wouldn't surprise me to see 2 or 3 of them in talks at least over the next week or so.

I've also seen Palace mentioned, which also make sense, as they are skint.

Rivalry aside, you've got to have a look at players from local teams - David Noble and Jennison Myrie-Williams have been released by Bristol City this evening. They'll maybe release Jamie McCombe too, he would certainly be worth a look.

Noble and Myrie-Williams would be decent signings to consolidate in L1 IMO. Noble looked decent for Yeovil (mind you, I could have looked decent against us that day), and M-W always seems to score against us. Whether they're what we need to progress to the 'next level' is a little more doubtful.

Noble has been decent in the Championship for the Shitheads and iirc he was a pretty key part in their promotion there in the first place.

Rovers fans seem certain they are signing him and Lee Martin, although they are usually wrong so it's probably bollocks.

They've released 4 relative first teamers though freeing up wages - Noble is drinking buddies with some of the Rovers players (if you believe forum talk) while Lee Martin is from Somerset.

That was the easy part - fingers crossed a sexier offer doesn't go Greer's way!

If I was to visibly act out my indifference I may shrug my shoulders and say 'meh'.

ST JOHNSTONE defender Gary Irvine is attracting the attention of English League One side Swindon Town, writes Ian Roache.

The 24-year-old’s contract at McDiarmid Park expires after the newly-crowned first division champions play their final match of the season at Airdrie on Saturday.

Irvine, who has been a virtual ever-present since signing from Celtic two years ago, is in talks with Saints about extending his deal but the Robins are now interested in taking him south.

Swindon were represented at the Morton game on Saturday as the Perth men clinched the champion-ship and have received a glowing report regarding Irvine.

Boss Danny Wilson is overhauling his squad in preparation for a promotion tilt next season so has already told 13 players they can leave and has identified Irvine as one he wants.

Saints are in advanced negotiations with the right-back and hope to persuade him to stay, so he will make a decision on his future after the finale at New Broomfield.
