Just read this RE: Ritchie Jones. Looks like we were one of a few clubs given the runaround by him and his agent. Such is football.

Port Vale miss out on Jones

Quote from: "SkySports.com"
Lee Sinnott told the club's official website: "He did the medical on Wednesday afternoon and we were expecting him to join the lads in training on Thursday morning.

"On Thursday morning when we got in touch with him we were informed he would be coming to sign the forms yesterday afternoon at 4pm.

"Things changed again and we were expecting him to come to the club this afternoon at 4pm, but then at 3.15 we found out he wouldn't be coming and he had signed for Hartlepool.

Brilliant love the Port Vale/Hearts rumours, just goes to show you never know.  Fair play to the Monkey Hangers.

Port Vale was more fact than rumour

I see someone on thisis has mentioned Gary Roberts from Ipswich as one of the 2 players we are talking to.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Roberts_%28footballer_born_1984%29

also talk of Sol Davis coming back, I always liked him when he was here first time just had a poor discipline record.

Sol Davis was mental. He left six years ago so it would be essentially like a new player.

I wouldn't cry myself to sleep if the rumour was nonsense - I wouldn't call for Malpas' sacking if he arrived.

Say what you want - he's got experience.

Was regarded as one of the best left backs outside the prem when Luton were flying in the Championship - I'd have him back in a jiffy.

I'd have him back in a jiffy.

Would that not restrict his movement a tad?
