I've thought about it.

This lad could be brilliant or rubbish. Know nothing of him, as ever.

Just seems odd to be strengthening that end of the pitch.

But it's another option and if he's good enough he'll play. As it should be.

Surely he can’t be nowhere near match fit.

Looks like a big unit, Smith and Prince together up top should frighten opposing defences.

Princewill has been a player I’ve been aware of for at least the past 2-3 years or so. He’s got an older brother Kelvin who has played 70-80 games for Reading now also a striker. Both came up through the reading youth system Kelvin got his way into the first team when the ownership started to take its tumble but Princewill left the club went on a few trials and ended up at Southampton where’s he been playing in the u21s ever since. Both him and his brother were great talents at youth level and played in the age groups up as a result. They might even face each other when Reading come here in the EFL trophy

Seems to have played for Saints 21’s through out pre-season and scored a few. Worth noting, the loan move triggers an extension to his Saints contract, so he's signed until 2027.

It's an odd signing if they think Smith will be here on 1st September..

But agree, a proper centre half would be useful (assuming no way back for Delaney) as would cover at wing back (not convinced on Snowdon yet despite his assist, early days though)

Snowdon defensively is poor the first goal they scored I could tell their player was going to beat him as he was flat footed and not on his toes but he did put a good ball in for Smith to score but defensively we were all over the place during the game a lot of the time. As others have said we need an experienced  centre back that can organise the defence. We’ve conceded soft goals in both games so far ok it’s early days but we definitely need to get the defence more organised and structured.

100% agree, he’s not a defensively minded player and teams are going to pick up on his weaknesses very quickly and a lot of attacks are going to go down his side. He’s good going forward and puts in delightful crosses but he does not suit that wing back/full back position for the duration of an entire season

I don't understand Delaney being frozen out

He was the one organising people around the new year pickup on form, until he got injured again.

He's literally exactly what we're crying out for.

Name me a good attacking wing back that was good defensively? At this level its rare you get a wing back that can do both, because if they can, they are not still in league 2!

So with 3 cb's i'd rather my wing back can attack, as i dont want 5 defenders on the pitch
