Pretty much agree, although I could also see him making an exception in this case if he views Sinclair, with all his experience, as somebody who comes on towards the end rather than starting. I don’t necessarily think this would be the case, but you could make an argument for it at least.
I get what you are saying with that for sure, I am sure though that Ollie wouldnt risk a fair chunk of the budget on an injury prone player even if he was "good to have around the dressing room". I think we have to see 1st if Ollie thinks he will be an asset and go from there. In Ollie we trust (we have to!).

https://lowertiers.co.uk/joe-westley-wanted-by-efl-clubs/“ The Lower Tiers understands that Swindon Town, Wigan Athletic, Walsall and Fleetwood Town are targeting Burnley striker Joe Westley on a permanent deal.” Don’t really feel it’s a necessary signing especially as we would have to pay money, assume it’s just an easy link to make.

This. I am sure if Ollie doesnt think hes fit enough he wont get a deal.
Not sure if Sinclair would be in the same category, but I think we’d have happily signed McGoldrick even if he couldn’t pass tge running test

He did play 45 games across last season, averaging 45.8 minutes per game. So the legs aren’t completely gone, you either get a Grant Hall or a Matty Taylor.

Rovers fans saying his legs had gone last year
You have to bear in mind that Rovers fans are a special type of wierd though. They thought Holloway was a shit manager and old fashioned and not at all suited to the modern game, they suggested Ollie Clarkes legs had gone totally when we signed him from Mansfield, Nichols was shit, back in the late 80s I was told by some of their fans that Chalkie White was rubbish and would never score many goals.

I have to say I have Gas fans in a special category all of their own, Barton certainly didn't help their cause.

Sinclairs entire game was built on pace though right? Holloway was awful saying he wanted a forward/winger that could get in behind the defence to compliment what he has. I struggle to see that Sinclair meets that criteria at his age. But lets see i guess.

Some of our fans think that Holloway is Premiership level manager

There's plenty of examples of Swindon fans being horrendously wrong in evaluating a player / manager.

I have to admit I dont remember Sinclair having loads of pace ever, he was never slow but not a speed merchant, I remember him being more about positioning in the box and quality of his assists. Overall he has scored 145 goals and got 55 assists in his 620 game career.

You don't have to be particularly quick to be a winger, Mark Walters wasn't very quick by the time he got to us but he was as tricky as fuck... Tony Galvin was never very fast either, don't think John Robertson was either...or Brian Marwood...just a few off the top of my head.

More about delivery and speed of thought not of feet.

Absolutely you dont have to be, but if your game was about speed and then you lose it thats a different matter. If you were always about skill then clearly losing any pace has less of an effect! Also my comment was refering to the type of player Holloway has said he wants as a winger, for which Sinclair doesn't quite match. Though a change of plan could be at play.

Or if he does plan on signing him then maybe he plans on using him off the bench to change games when needed, a change from his normal formula.
