Did Westley do enough to justify that? I don't think so. He seemed very much last choice for most of his spell with all the others getting more game time.
I agree, not sure I saw enough to warrant a contract, but offer him a deal for a year with extentions at a lowish wage and hope it pays off maybe.

Westley was a handy option off the bench. Personally I wouldn't be disappointed to sign him permantly. Good age, seems to have a good strikers instinct on him and definitely someone we can improve.

Agree with everything said about Westley. Looked handy off the bench. Made some intelligent runs. Took up good positions. Finished well (apart from in 1 game where he missed a sitter).
Rubbish when starting. Young, raw and can improve.

A bit of a risk if you are expecting greatness from Westley, Tabor and Ameen though.

You can safely omit Ameen from that list.

I’d take a punt on Westley.
Probably the most intelligent of our strikers inside the 6 yard box.

Not one to play as a wide forward though. Either needs to be the central striker (which he won’t be ahead of Smith) or to play as a two with Smith…but…again wingers would then be key to that.

Gone?
From what I am told he has no intention of signing on as soon as he heard of interest from 2 decent Championship clubs.

Thats what I'm thinking, as an understudy to Smith. If Smith continues the start of next season as he finished this, other clubs could be circling to buy him, and then you'd have Westley to step in.

Westley is the one confusing me.

He's not listed by the club as a player returning from loan and the club themselves show his contract as ending this summer although he isn't on the released or in talks list.
------
It is strange.
The other possibility is that he signed a new deal before going to Swindon and the club haven't broadcast that change....

He’s going on trial to at least 4 clubs.

I think Westley's worth a punt as a squad player. He has strength, good movement and presence in the box. I think he has the ability to become quite a good striker at this level.

Would be unusual for Sam to get it wrong. I imagine he has trials booked with a few clubs?
