Jobbing lower league footballer, lots of experience which Holloway wants but not much of a record of success. 1 in 5 goal ratio across a long career.

3rd year in a row we have been linked with him! Crawley and Gillingham were the last 2 times linked and he was on trial with us before then. Always going to be linked it seems, cant get a game at Mansfield.
Had a bid rejected for him under Power, and then Wellens had him on trial a few years back too. The old cliche “someone we’ve been wanting for a while”.

I may be wrong but i would hazard a guess in the last 4 seasons Drinnan still has a better goal return than Nichols

Nichols career: 92 in 446 (0.20)
Nichols since 2020: 33 in 168 (0.20)

Drinan career: 31 in 202 (0.15)
Drinan since 2020: 21 in 131 (0.16)

Similar but Nichols mildly better.

Yet in a previous Moonraker article suggested we are looking to get business done as early in the window as possible. I wonder what's changed?

How long before it's one in one out chat?

I mean the two statements aren't mutually exclusive if you put enough emphasis on as possible

Cashflow probably

Messaged my Mansfield supporting stepdad, he said Nichols is awful

Unsurprising to see a Bristol Rovers supporting manager going for ex Bristol Rovers players

Sounds like a done deal. Happy with that. Not a goal scorer but should enhance the final third, he's a clever player.

Would leave us with five strikers plus Ameen if Tshimanga is staying, I'd suggest it's bad news for Paul Glatzel.

As my Rovers supporting mates also said to me, hes not a goal scorer but plays behind a striker in a more attacking midfield/creator role apparently.

I would still rather keep Glatzel than Tshimanga.

Isnt that what Dan Butterworth is supposed to do?

I agree on the "supposed to do" part.
