He wouldn't even get in this midfield. Hopeless

I think he might, but he'd probably be deployed as a false 9 or some other position completely misaligned to his skillset

Southend sign George Moncur on a season long loan
The attacking centre mid we needed tbh. Wonder if we tried to sign him?

He really isn’t. Overweight, low energy, constant rumours about long Covid, doesn’t want to move outside of Essex.

Moncur was quite good for half a season when Leyton Orient won L2. He hasn’t been useful for over 18 months.

Also whilst we're on the subject of former Orient players, we signed Harry Smith to rekindle their successful Smith/Drinan partnership and whenever they've played together it's like they are total strangers.

Drinan was a bit better coming on as a sub on Saturday fwiw.

Cotteril, Ofobohr, Clarke and Mitchell already for me. Kinsella already proved here he isn't good enough

Early days but I'd swap Kinsella for Cotterill any day of the week. Not sure we've seen enough of Mitchell either. His first touch on Saturday was to give the ball away. I maybe guilty of trying to change history but I thought Kinsella was pretty decent for us. Given what I've seen of our midfield so far this season I'd definitely have him in the side.

Ah, the old "retrospective re-assessment" of players that have left who were described as not good enough when here. Apologies if you weren't one of them but I believe Cotterill and Clarke(and Mitchell) have potential to improve.

I'd bloody hope so, or we're in trouble.

Don't get me wrong I didn't think Kinsella was fantastic, but he was more than competent when introduced, in my eyes anyway.

Head and shoulders above any midfielder we currently have. The fact apparently we weren't even interested blows my mind.

He’s not 19 and in the u21 team though, which seems to be the mindset for all the loans

Im not really sure how much they actually played together in that promotion season. Also they had Smyth and Archibald who all were creative and better quality than what we have.

Believe it's widely known/reported that he wanted to stay local to Essex, so it's not even worth us entertaining a deal when clubs that way are interest regardless of league status.
