Where would he fit in here?
Unless he plays as a #10?

Sawyers on the other hand would be (by reputation only, I can't say I've scouted him recently) the sort of player that might put a very different spin on the look of the squad.

I know transfers in are more interesting, but is it perhaps a little concerning that we're not managing to get players out? Obviously we don't have a public transfer list, but there's not much secrecy about us trying to move on Khan, Cain and Uwakwe and probably to get some of the kids out on loan as well. Don't seem to be getting any movement on any of them.

This is the problem, if they are crap they are harder to get rid of

Like you I’ve not followed his career over recents years but know he was a handful whilst at Walsall and then Brentford.

In our position most of these players next move is into NL if there are no takers in L2. It might well be that it looks better on their CV that they fought for their place at Swindon, rather than dropped out the EFL.
So perhaps they are the problem, rather than us being able to move them.

Or maybe, contrary to popular belief, we are paying over the odds for what are basically bench warmers at best. Not likely for the kids but maybe for the likes of Uwakwe & Cain. That said, I’m not sure whether we are trying to move them on, or there agents are trying to drum up interest to get them better deals?

People think Khan is easier to get rid of but Cain should be easy.
22 year old former Liverpool youth. There has to be a coach that thinks he can get a better tune out of him.
Khan is a 28 year old former non league player who isn't setting the world alight at a (unfortunately) mid table league two side.

We triggered his contract extension in the summer. If they wanted to get rid, then the summer was the time. Perhaps they believed they could get a fee for him at that point. Or they had no proper strategy for this season and thought he would be required.

Very pro active. 2 days before the season and wants a keeper and a striker.

We've been 'very close' to signing a GK for the last 3 weeks......

Although I agree with you if you look at the whole squad then its not a position that is a priority numbers wise. If you take the squad as being 26 1st teamer (that's including Evans, Hart, McGregor, Dworzak, Brown and Mitchell, which was alluded to by Kennedy) then currently we have.... 2 GKs Bycroft, Evans 7 CBs Johnson, Delaney, Wright, Freckleton, Hall, Minturn, Hart 4 WBs Sobowale, Longelo, King, McGregor 10 MC's Ofoborh, Cotterill, Clarke, McGurk, Uwakwe, Cain, Khan, Dworzak, Brown, Mitchell 3 FW's Smith, Glatzel, Drinan
