Its following the same pattern of sign a few decent looking players and then the money runs out that I expected to to be honest.

I expect a decent start that will save our FL status (hopefully)

Spent the bulk on Grant Hall i suspect, he wont have come cheap

If we were being sensible, Hall will be on some form of appearance based deal. Otherwise, that is a big risk.

Or maybe not, perhaps that’s why signed for us and the other clubs that were chasing his signature

I guess it makes a change signing someone with a track record with an injury, normally we sign unknowns with potential that are injury prone

Awaiting the club shop "you don't have to be injury prone to play here...but it helps" signs.

So now Rowe has signed for Boston, Bostock negotiations are 'ongoing' and Randall appears to have been told thanks but no thanks, do we have any other rumours circulating or is Jamie Russell ready to send up the Bat signal for McKirdy?

High risk, high reward.

I agree when it’s one or two in a squad. The concern is that we have a trend for it, and simple percentages mean that you are not going to reverse the trend in all or most of the injury prone players you sign, especially with less investment in the medical department than clubs higher up the pyramid. It means that we construct a small squad, in the knowledge that at any one time, a certain percentage will most likely be unavailable. It is no coincidence that the number of long term injuries in recent years seems to have rocketed. Devine, Clayton, Uwakwe, Hepburn-Murphy. I’d love to see Sam M and Joe Acklam put these questions to Russell and co and get some proper answers that don’t just deflect. We succeeded in reversing a trend with Jonny Williams, and *may* do the same with Glatzel, but I can’t think of many others.

McKirdy started for Hibs in the Scottish League Cup at the weekend. They lost 1-0 to Kelty Hearts (no, not those Hearts).

Half a rumour that we’re interested in Vadaine Oliver from Bradford City.

They really don’t like him. But then again, they weren’t keen on Doyle and Young until they rocked up here.

‘ Hate coming into the office and speaking to this bloke, but we have a York fan who every time I see him says that they are bringing in a City player. Anyways, he said that they wanted Oliver back but he is in talks with a L2 club, he thinks that Cheltenham and Swindon offered a better package than them.’

Cheltenham have just signed Ryan Bowman.

I think we should loan a striker from Bradford every year on a point of principle. Just agree a fee in advance for the next one...
