What on earth has happened there then?
We have either not been impressed enough to offer a contract or...
more depressingly have been out bid by Boston.

We didn't want him.
His contract was up, he came on trial, he wasn't up to it, so he re-signs with his old club.

We just didn't offer him a contract. Clearly not good enough if he's signing for Boston. It's not like he's signed for a rival League Two side.

I thought his reviews from the friendlies were (generally) quite posititve? I've not seen any of them.

Without ever actually seeing him play or even knowing of his existence before July You're always going to get the usually suspects on Twitter kicking off over things like this.

Most of the hype around Jai Rowe was because a couple of social media accounts said he was a good player with potential. I’d be amazed if more 5% of our fan base knew his name a month ago.
Pretty obvious by the lack of offers he had before joining us on trial, and now re-signing for Boston that he isn’t up to it.

LSP don't think Will Randall will be offered anything either.
Sam M said Bostock was and was in negotiations but I can't see us finalising that unless Cain or khan go

I will sound miserable
But my optimism from 3/4 weeks ago is starting to fade.
The club might know exactly what they are doing, but it's all gone very quiet.

They haven’t known what they’re doing since Clem took over, I can’t imagine they do now.

No I’m in agreement here. Some good early business but Delaney’s not starting the season, Hall can’t play every game and we’re back to a “good 1-13/14 and poor beyond that” scenario. It’s not a squad at the minute, hope that changes in the next week.

The more positive spin on this is that they’ve decided we need (and can get) better than Rowe. But otherwise, yeah, the suggestion that we had turned a corner and were going to be competitive now looks sketchy at best *unless* they pull some rabbits out of the hat very soon.
And if that’s the case, I’d not be happy if I was Kennedy or Russell with the chairman saying we had a competitive budget and setting expectations that we would be competitive.
Mr Chairman, Sean Morrison is still out there….

Let's see the next couple of weeks will really show if lessons are learned and how competitive it will be. Trying not to panic just yet.
There was talk of 2 or 3 in this week, let's see if that materialises

Our business has stalled for sure but I imagine it’s like that for a lot of clubs.
Players probably enjoying their holidays but also holding out for better offers. Clubs looking to save a few quid by not signing players on till the last minute.
Then the whole big clubs doing global pre season tours in China + having domestic pre season games and using 60+ players still the start of the season then being willing to loan out 20 of them….and any movement the loans of those players create further down the line.
Squads seem to be getting finalised later & later. Need to cap the transfer window so it ends before the season starts but it’ll never happen because it will limit the players the big clubs have to cover all their various money driven pre season obligations
