I've never really understood the argument from people that Khan has potential and with the right coaching could do really well for us.

The guy was 26 when he signed for us, he'll be 29 in a few months. Both of those are long past the age of potential & needing the right coaching. He is at his peak as a player right now and on his best day looks like a good league 2 player.

There's nothing wrong with that, hell most of our signings this summer have been exactly that type of player, but that is all he will be. The biggest problem is his best day is one in 10.

If he stays fine but if he goes he's not some great loss.

The argument comes from his background being nowhere near an academy, just up through non league - he won't have had the years of coaching that most players of his age (and much younger) often have had.

But he's had two years here now and is broadly the same player.

George Moncur not in the Orient pre season trip squad and rumours he’s departing.

Absolutely nothing linking him here but is that a type we should be going for?

Has one more year left on his contract so would have to pay a fee, which I cant see us doing for a soon to be 31 year old. Good player mind you and I would love to see him at the club. He is the calibre we should be aiming at for that creative midfielder. Though with Clarke and Bostock both in their 30s, I feel we’d need younger legs in that midfield three.

Edit: thinking more, on a one year contract he would add so much quality that would really help us get out of this league, and could rotate with Randall (if we sign him of course). All this is theoretical mind you!

He's 28 who has hit his ceiling. A liabilty discipline wise and when he is poor he is very poor

We can do alot better

We have also shown, with alarming regularity, that we can do a lot worse.

Can’t disagree with what you’ve said but I’d argue in his favour we haven’t played him in a midfield position that plays to his strengths either.

I won’t lose any sleep over it whatever we do. Don’t mind him staying not fussed if he goes.

khan is decent in a decent side just like the majority of flare players. when he is on song he is fantastic to watch. people forgot that we were raving about him yet again in the first 10 games last season. he's had some total shit alongside him and asked to play DM and even CB for us. with a free role he will get back to playing like to his best.

his biggest disappointment for me is his long range shooting, his goals at chesterfield were class and we haven't seen them in a town shirt. he isn't quite a number 10 and definitely not a cdm. which limits his ability in a rigid formation.

Just one long range effort at Accrington, left foot strike if I remember?

Hopefully Kennedy will play people in their strongest positions.
Faulty recruitment hasn't helped his predecessors in doing this.

I’d like him to stay. I don’t think he is as bad as the sides he has played in, and I don’t think we’ve played to his strengths. It would also be a novelty to see a player into his third season at the club (which is ridiculous to say).

Some people on Twitter saying Randall is no longer on trial? So i guess he wont be one of the three.

Bostock, Rowe and someone else?

Billy Kirkman

Not sure the value in signing him. We have a project in his position already with Johnson.
