I've no recollection of any of his performances for us but know he looked pretty good for Notts Co. over the last two seasons...

Grant Hall...John Bostock...may as well announce Luongo and Pritchard too.

Is Lucerne Lee bumbling around in the background again...seeing as he effectively has a clean slate once again.

Maybe Michael Sitting and he have come to a settlement kissed and made up?  Sad Cheesy

Just a former goalkeeper away now from being able to make a decent XI from all the former players we’ve been linked to or signed this summer

                       GK
      N.Thompson Morrison Hall
            Bostock   Payne
                     Kemp
J.Smith                           Jaiyesimi
           H.Smith     Bodin

Well, we nearly signed Archie Matthews in January, if that counts.

My biggest memory of Bostock was against Port Vale in the 5-0 win on the last day of the season. He was threading balls through the eye of a needle that day. He just didn't ever seem to fit the Di Canio system the rest of the time.

Bostock pre-dated Power. He was a Di Canio loan signing the same week we got Jay McEveley.

Both made their debuts for us at Wembley in the JPT final didn't they?  Very harsh treatment for the 2 that dropped out.

That's right, him and McEvely.

Was not on that.

It was classic di Canio....got in a really good player, potentially, but Bostock, young as  he was, was not going to fit the mould that di Canio required. I knew Bostock's agent, and he was tearing his hair out.....

Felt we should have signed Bostock the first time around.
Certainly had an eye (…and the ability) to break the lines with his passes. Something I think our midfielders lack outside of McGurk…

Dunno if his game has changed since then though!

Having him & McGurk as an AMC depth chart works I think.

….would still like to see some wide players bought in.

His game has changed since then. He is a sitting player. At Notts it was him and Palmer that sat as the deep 2 midfield players. He is not like for like with McGurk.

Its been said they want to bring in a winger type player, but beyond that you are not getting more wide players. The width for Kennedy is the wingbacks, which they may need one more of now Kokolo has gone and subject to Uwakwes future.

Yeah, I don't expect to see any wingers come in, as we don't seem to be setting up to play that way.

If we do, I would expect it to be a Randall type or young loan who is happy to sit on the bench and come on if we have to switch systems.

Yeah, I get we aren’t setting up to play with wingers.
Which is exactly why we need wingers - so we can change formation.

Managers don’t have to religiously stick to the same formation all game, every game…
