Adver reporting that despite a significant offer from us, Dan Kemp has stated his desire to play in League 1 this season.
I respect him for that

In a way I’m okay with that. We’d probably have built our team around him (obviously), he’d have ended up here on a largeish wage (you would assume) that would have eaten into the budget and after a good 6 months, a probable release clause related transfer away in January and we’re back to square one.

One of those ones that of course would have been nice to happen but he deserves his crack at League One and we can focus budgets on building a more complete and deep squad.

Good luck to him

The same significant offer we made for Josh Umerah...

Clem doesn't need a new playbook because people keep gobbling it up!

Good luck to him. He’s far too good for L2.

Great to reach the stage where a player moving to Stevenage is unarguably a better option. Good luck to him. At least it didn't drag on the whole summer like that defender last year.

As LSPod have noted on Twitter, Alex Revell still managing to score past us even after retirement.

He's earned the right to give league 1 a go. Chance for him to be the big fish in a smaller pond team wise.

Good in some ways that that chapter is closed. I'm now more interested in seeing what players we are bringing in this week to be honest. Wonder if we'll sell any ST's off the back of 'trying to sign Dan Kemp'?

Also don't forget Jack Payne is still a free agent chaps and ladies. That's sure to rile up the 'why so obsessed with former players' brigade.

Actually I think that's fake news, Jack Payne is still under contract at Charlton.

we've been to Aberdeen, we hate the Hibs, they make us spew up, so make some noise,
the gorgie boys, for Hearts in Europe.

We did try to sign him, how hard is up for debate but he picks a top table League 1 club over us that’s fine. For those questioning the size of Stevenage compared to us, 24/25 season their aspirations are promoted from League 1, ours are to stay up in League 2. No brainer for him
