I don't think Austin has given 100% since being here. That's my opinion. There has to be a reason why players are leaving? The manager, the board or even team mates perhaps?

Sometimes, it may boil down to contract in length and wages.

Team bobbling around the bottom end of L2 with no sign of the powers that be wanting to improve it

The vision they was sold when signed has backfired

Manager sacked and a coach who has had no involvement in the 1st team for a couple of seasons is put in interim charge until season end

Club in a higher league showing interest

Club in higher league is actually stable and honest in their intentions

Club in higher league pay more than a bag of peanuts and 4 marbles

Now ask yourself if you would want to stay ?

And herein lies the lack of actions that show our problems.  There is very little evidence of "building" going on - people are signed for 1 or 2 years and are sold or left to leave.  Very few are being tied down to long term deals that we can either build with, or leverage for better sale terms.  The actions show we are not interested in the long term.

Completely agree RobertT.

Zero evidence of the club building anything.

It sure as hell better be a question at the fans forum, and if Clem talks about the Womens Team, or the ground with the JV, the host needs to jump in, tell him to shut up and talk about whats happening now, not whats already happened.

Is that how the Women's leagues are structured then?

Seeing as you ask, WSL, Championship, National League Northern/Southern Premier, National League North/Midlands/SE/SW (where we are) - so technically we can skip L1 and get straight to the Championship (although we do need to go via the National League, so they have that in common with the men)

.............unless Gav wants to try Dokes in that role which could work as long as we sign a RB to replace Dokes.

My thinking as well. Dokes has the defensive aptitude plus the ability to drive forward when necessary, could work as we now have a couple more defenders in the squad now.

He could suit the role well, he can dribble, pass and has pace and stamina, he can at times tackle too and his height would help in defence for set pieces. Lets face it we have fuck all to lose by trying him there.

Positioning is the big thing for anyone not accustomed to playing in midfield. He’s got all the other qualities but if he’s all over the shop positionally then it’s a nightmare gap in midfield.

That being said, it’s not been amazing so far with anyone else in there so can’t be any worse.

UGM might be okay in that position but would leave us short down the right side. Clayton and Brewitt could be tried there as they have done that before.

Fuck me, we are getting desperate. I don’t disagree with the sentiment that UGM could probably play that role, but he was part of a title winning defence when he last played in L2. If only we could allow him to do that and sign some competent midfielders who have that as their first position.

Utterly bleak times.

I did put a proviso that only if Hutton was replaced.

I am not too optimistic regarding us replacing anyone as it seems we are aiming to trim the squad and wage bill!
