As I said in a previous post a few days ago, it's all about watching the actions, not the words.  There hasn't been anything of note that would suggest any sort of long term strategy by those running our club, or one that comes with any sort of financial budget in place that competes with the top end of L2 (maybe Austin aside as a short term one, but you sense that was all PR as well).  Sometimes we get lucky with a player, but it is not because we were fishing in the right waters.

Kinsella was not a great buy, an action that showed where we were heading.  The fact we'd allow him to leave should be sending all sorts of alarm bells ringing.  The action that follows, who we sign, should have them falling off the walls, because you can put good money on the fact it will not be a player with a known better pedigree.

Kinsella was alright, i wont lose any sleep on him moving on.

IF (big if), we bring in the appropriate replacements.

I'm not sure what set up gets the best out of Kinsella. In a 3 man midfield with one holding player we never used him as the holding player as we needed that man to pick the ball up off the back 4 and move it to more advanced players. He had the destructive side of that role but not much else.
This.

Kinsella is an ok L2 player, hes not good enough defensively to be classed as a DMC and hes not attack minded enough to be a decent AMC, hes solid and uninspiring but can do the job.

Great if he stays, not a big loss if he goes as long as we sign a defensive midfield replacement, unless Gav wants to try Dokes in that role which could work as long as we sign a RB to replace Dokes.

Lots of ifs in there.

Also if its a good fee then let him go, more in the club (Clems) coffers.

We’re just continually selling off the family silver and there’s absolutely nothing they won’t sell.  Get ready to start bringing your own bog rolls to the County Ground.

Already given up on this season.  Biggest shit show in all the years I’ve been a Town fan.
What worries me is next season, we won’t have the massive points cushion we had this season.
Bloody worrying.

I mean the season is dead, so I do get it to some extent with the likes of Hutton who had 6 months left.

I don't think it was confirmed how log Kinsella had signed for though. Maybe same boat.

BUT...the obvious

1. No confidence come summer we won't do same again as this. Playing with relegation like you said.
2. We are assuming we have enough points to stay up now (with a few more gained). Its probably right but bloody hell..
3. Reasons to buy a season ticket if you are wavering: zero

Maybe we sacrifice him and get more players in before February. I wouldn't put £5 on that making us stronger (wonder which young injury prone released player that once showed promise we'll sign?).

Or even better...shit in the pub before coming into the ground.

Our budget appears to be utterly laughable and this is literally just selling players to make a fast buck, no forward thinking at all, sell any asset and bring in youth as its cheaper, simple.

How long can this happen before we are bled dry?

Clem clearly has a strategy of cutting costs back as much as possible.
I do wonder if someone has suggested that we can save on wages in the National League.

Lets look at his logically.

If Clem ever wants his money back we can't be a non league side right? So he must protect his asset you would think.

Is this just short term to stop losing more than he needs to before selling it very soon?

If not he can't trully believe that running a team at the cost base we seem to have is going to help him achieve his stated aims of league 1/championship football.

It one thing ripping the club apart, like Power did, but that was with the aim of selling it. Quite what Clem is doing if its not the same is beyond me, and surely just self harm.

He's already said it costs him more in league 1, so it wouldn't be a great leap for him.

But I don't think self sabbotage is intended. He must realise the "fuck that" and "boycott" backlash will also reduce income.

[opinion]
Think the wheels of finance have run out of grease and he's brassic - I'm amazed at the 800k injection claim to be honest- might be true but nothing really holds real to my mind.

Even the 800k was only to keep our heads above water.

If all our debt is owed to Clem then why does what division we are in make a difference?

If hypothetically he’s put in 2m as ‘director loans’ to cover costs - then any sale of the club would include that debt to Clem - whether we were National League or Champions League.

Not my area of expertise at all but it seems like easy money. Put 2m a year in as director loans (club owes you 2m) take out 1m a year in admin fees & the club still owes you 2m despite you being only 1m down.

My conspiracy theory is that they have looked at this season with the Wrexham's & Stockport's and decided to save their budget money for next season.
