fans are going to be happy with the light at the end of the tunnel being turned off?
Is it worse to be turned off than have it being a train hurtling towards you to run you over?

I dunno..it weird.
Being 15th and signing unknown and untested players usually gets calls for an open top bus parade.
yeah we are in survival mode until the end of the season. Fact as may be, you reckon after 2 shit years fans are going to be happy with the light at the end of the tunnel being turned off?
Dont know Batch, as you rightly said, after the last couple of shit years it seems we MAY slightly be moving forward, gotta make the most of any positive moves, at least things appear to be moving behind the scenes.

I mean take this with a sack of salt, but in the AB minutes -
"Budget from summer transfer window was not fully used, we had 3 deals fall through the day before the end of the summer transfer window. There will be money there for January and Clem will add more money if needed to get what we need in the window."
So according to the club, there is money for what we need in this window. Hopefully we add experienced heads but on the face of it, this is a shrewd signing if we do. If we don't add any experience, then it's a different story.

Signing young players on a permanent deal is great, especially if they improve and we can make money on them in the future, however we need them to be combined with some experience and playing in a positive environment.
The question is what counts as experience, how many league games?

Certainly aren't on the pitch. I accept the window is still open. gotta make the most of any positive moves, at least things appear to be moving behind the scenes.
Are they though. What have I missed other than some vague and odd Trust tweet and more fans being annoyed. however we need them to be combined with some experience and playing in a positive environment.
Yup. Exactly. The question is what counts as experience, how many league games? For me, 4 or 5 seasons at the relative level or above, which we need playing mostly week in and out. And a few like Dokes with a couple of years experience at league level. So 6 or 7 across both.

Interesting that these are all permanent deals, they've quite often been the type of player we'd loan in from an u21 side.
Still leaves us with a fair few loan spots.

True
So in theory by deadline day if we loan in 4 or 5 youngsters then we could feasibly play an entire team of U21's.

So far we've done four direct positional replacements for our four loans, three on perms:
Mahoney -> Bycroft Ward -> Johnson Kemp -> Devoy Young -> Glatzel
We're at net zero players in, and the quality is TBC, but we'll do very well to have improved on three of those at least. It's not a disaster, but we're not on the up just yet. Still having four loan spots is interesting.

Pharrell Johnson looks the part, good height plays left CB, his dad was a decent player for Birmingham and Derby at CB also. Athletic and quick and decent in the air apparently.
Ticks all the boxes.
One more for the County Ground Allotment System!
Michael Johnson? Think he had caps for Jamaica.

Indeed, 13 caps for Jamaica and 500+ league games with many in the top 2 divisions.

If we start moving forward I think you will see a different reaction, the fact is that these signings are replacing the ones we have recently lost. If we want to be really be seen as moving forward, we need to sign some players to replace the ones that we should have signed in the summer to give us a suitably sized squad, and ideally the spine of those players should be more experienced (an ideally more physical). These current signings are a sticking plaster to fix January, we then need a bandage to fix the summer and ideally a shot of morphine on top, then maybe you will start to see more positivity.
