I doubt he was on very much honestly given the nature of his return.
Clearly never going to be first choice under Flynn (oh wait a min...) because of his ability at this feat.
But another experienced head out of the building if true. I like having an experienced and a young GK partnership, much like the lad who helped Benda in the Wellens season.
Agreed

Anyone know if there is any truth in the twitter rumour (I think that’s where I heard it) that we are flogging all of our academy players and one went for 300k?

I'd imagine we'll stick to having the young kid on the bench and if anything happens to Bycroft, delving into the emergency loan market.
Can we do that with a senior (!) keeper out on loan at Supermarine?

So we are going to have one goalkeeper in the building with a grand total of one professional appearance. What could go wrong?

I don't think £300k is likely given EPPP, but had heard Fletcher-Hubbard had been snapped up. He wasn't in the Academy squad over the weekend.

Brann hasn't played enough games to count as a pro keeper. The emergency loan rules are actually counter productive for number 2 keepers like him in that there's an incentive for us to never play him - I think if he plays five pro games then it's no emergency loan for us. Must be very frustrating.

The fact he’s a Middlesbrough player on loan at Orient probably goes in our favour though (I know you meant Brann)

I was under the impression that there are strict rules regarding the transfer of academy players who aren't in the U18 scholar groups with EPPP. It's a modest pre-determined fee, then add ons per appearance etc. It's possible one of the U18s was sold, but 300k does seem a lot....

Ward was on non-contract terms seemingly.

Another indication of how threadbare Morfunis operation is... must of been the only professional club in the land without a perm keeper (well aware that has now changed now that we have the vastly experienced Bycroft).
