Gladwin was told last January that his deal wasn’t going to be renewed at the end of the season so who can blame him for moving on.

As for him returning - we are crying out for some experience and if we do find ourselves in a fight to retain our FL status, that’ll be vital.

If Gladwin is signing as a squad player, with a view on coaching, great. Anyone that has heard him speak will know that he is an impressive guy, and could go on to have a good future in coaching/management. Maybe a new voice on the training ground is needed.

No idea how legit this is, but Joe Acklam on the Adver blog just posted this.

On the other hand, Hiram Boateng is joining Swindon Town. #STFC #MTFC

Unless Joe is just taking the piss and stating that random twitter sites are just regurgitating rumours left, right and centre?

To my mind  Boateng a definite upgrade on what we currently have in midfield.

If it happens, hopefully an addition rather than a replacement.

Quote from mansfield forum ref Boateng

'he slows an already slow midfield down to a crawl, can't tackle, and needs a bus to get forwards'

Sounds perfect!

I assume it will be a loan as he's under contract until July 2025. I wouldn't say no to having a 6ft 27 year old defensive midfielder who has about 270 appearances under his belt at league 1 and 2 level.

1) adver aren’t running a blog today
2) Acklam is on leave
3) If he did say it he’s probably trying to be being witty

Fans in not too keen on fringe player shock.
Looked decent whenever I've seen him.
Early bath against us last season from what I remember.
We'll see, if it happens.

Yeah I'm not totally convinced, but I've heard that rumour from a few sources. Time will tell whether its baloney or not. Smiley

Not a transfer rumour as such, but I wonder if we were in for Connor Wilkinson who has today signed for Colchester. He was with Flynn at Walsall so would have probably been on his radar.
