"#STFC boss Mike Flynn on Jake Young & Dan Kemp: "I anticipate Crawley [being their last games] because I'm a realist. I presume we will know more tomorrow evening on their recalls."
"There's no stone unturned in trying to keep them but ultimately it's not in our power.""
Which will come as no surprise
-------- khan not in AFCON final squad.

Being recalled isn’t necessarily permanent. As Doyle proved.

I think there will be bigger clubs than us after Kemp who we wont be able to compete with irrespective if Dons would let us have him.

I'd take Johnson, scored goals under Flynn before. The larger worry us how Kemp is replaced and who plays alongside Johnson as Austin is completely gone this season.

I would be surprised if we don’t see Wakeling come back on loan this window. He can’t play for anyone else this season in the EFL so presumably we’d be able to cut a decent deal on wages and we desperately need bodies in.

He’d probably get more game time for us than Peterborough but can’t see him starting here, so isn’t going to aid his development much. If he were to be Young’s replacement it wouldn’t be good news. I guess he could replace RHM who appears to have disappeared

I’m surprised Wakeling didn’t come straight back on loan in August.
P’boro obviously didn’t sign him to go straight into their first team. We had 4 strikers before we sold him - with Austin’s age, RHM injury record and Young being an unknown quantity: Wakeling would have played here.
Different type of player to Young obviously but Wakeling was/is still a decent striker who can & will get goals at this level.
I wouldn’t mind him back (in fact I actively encourage it) but remember when he was all of a sudden sold no one rated him as per….so I foresee rage if he did come back

Wakeling didn't get much time under Flynn in preseason. I assumed he's not a Flynn type player

Didn't Peterborough fail to sell Clarke-Harris when the transfer window slammed shut? If I remember correctly he was due to join someone (possibly Bristol Rovers) but it fell through. Had that happened you'd have thought Wakeling would have got more minutes.
