If Bradford recall Young and he fails to perform for them akin to Doyle, it'll stop any other club using him for the remainder of the season, so Bradford would either have to carry a dead weight for the rest of the season or we'd get him back again. Of course this is pure cope and they'll probably flog him to the championship on Jan 1st

We are still lacking a missing forward as it is, let alone the need to replace Young when he goes back.  It would be pure Swindon transfer gold if we did end up losing Young and he loaning back Wakeling and counting that as some sort of replacement, given we never replaced Wakeling when we lost him!

100% would take him, a very good player at this level and great in the air. As said above though would have to wait until January 1st to sign him if he was to come here.

I remember him looking decent against us for Shrews although not the fastest is a solid lump, unlucky to get sent off for a foul in the box that gave away a penalty. Could be what we need if he is an option.

Although reading up on him, he signed for Fleetwood because he loves living in the North.

Had a look in on the Bradford forum - in a right old frenzy about Young being recalled. Should they flog him now when his stock is high, or play him and hope his form continues with them?

I’m unconvinced he’ll be the same player playing under Alexander but it’s up to them.

Young has a year and a half left on his contract which is the big difference between this situation and the Doyle one.

Bradford hold all the cards so just have to see what happens.

If they play him and he doesn’t perform for whatever reason, his value will plummet by the summer - plus he will only be able to play for them or us until the season ends. That’s the parallel between him and Doyle. Doyle downed tools when he returned. Not sure if Young is that kind of guy, though.

Still rather keep Kemp if it was a choice.

Not quite all the cards but most of them, the player can have a say in things and todays article in the Adver suggests he wants to stay, how much sway that will hold is anyones guess though.

https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/23965586.jake-young-no-reason-want-bradford-city-return/

Quote
Jake Young said that he has "no reason" to want to leave Swindon Town and return to his parent club Bradford City in January.

The man on loan from the Bantams has gone supernova at the County Ground, presently leading all players in England’s top four divisions with his 16 league goals and having scored in each of his last six appearances.

Graham Alexander has replaced Mark Hughes as manager at Bradford since Young temporarily departed the University of Bradford Stadium and he said he was keeping a close eye on the players the club had out on loan.

Alexander said that it was “good we have options to bring them back and slip them into our squad if we see fit.”

When asked about what he would choose to do with the potential of a January recall from his parent club looming large, Young said that he would like to be able to continue the best form of his career in Wiltshire.

He said: “I am loving it here, obviously I am having the best season of my career to date, so there is no reason that I would want to leave.

“Obviously, like I said at the start of the season, it is not necessarily up to me, and we will see what comes.

“I am loving it here and I am a Swindon player until I am told otherwise and that is what I am sticking with.”

Michael Flynn has been loath to praise individuals for their goal scoring all season but said he couldn’t be “too picky” with what the on-loan striker had achieved during his time at the County Ground.

The 22-year-old has scored 16 goals in 19 League Two appearances for Swindon, compared to 11 goals in 75 combined League Two appearances at his previous clubs Forest Green Rovers, Bradford, and Barrow AFC.

Due to his unrivalled form in front of goal this season, the Town boss was not feeling overly optimistic about his chances of keeping his star striker.

He said: “He’s hungry and has been all season, he has got 16 goals, he is loving his time here, and you can see the smile on his face.

“16 before December is a fantastic return and I want him to get to 30 now, before Christmas or before January, because the likelihood is that he is going to be tough to keep.”

Its still up to Bradford and how much Graham Alexander cares about upsetting the player.
