Simpson would be a great signing for us now I think. Assuming leaving us didn't completely cut the legs out on his development.

Left pretty much in limbo for a while on return to Ipswich.
Would welcome him back.

Appreciated both his & Davison's efforts.
Different attributes & both suffered from a lack of back up.

I will always blame Josh Davison for not squaring the ball to McKirdy at 2-0 in the first leg of the play offs against Vale and then blazing over the bar. That tie would have been done and dusted if he had.

Not forgetting his penalty miss at Vale Park. Although with that said, had he not scored 9 in 23 we might not have got to the play-offs at all.

There was a much worse miss from the spot than Davison's that night.

Failings at home cost us a top three spot.

Absolutely - Harry's penalty was atrocious.

I feel for him as lack of activity can kill a players development at that age, particularly with him coming from another sport.

A lot of young players do it to themselves choosing to stay at a bigger club where they're not playing over getting game time, but his was completely done to him.

Keep in touch this coming month and it's all on January. That's about the size of it.

I wouldn't say that weakened us at all. We got very unlucky with Cooper's injury and Tomlinson. I'd say our squad became stronger.

I'd agree with one massive caveat.

That first season was different. We were under restrictions but somehow got an experienced core together.

Things changed that following summer as we know - we went young and cheap.

I've not seen anything since to suggest that has changed. I'm prepared to be pleasantly amazed!

Talking of Port Vale, I see they haven't won a league game since 16th September  Cheesy
Hopefully back where they belong next season. Bring Reading too.

I blame Conroy for his going down ‘injured’ in the first leg to waste some time - because he had treatment he had to go off the pitch whilst Port Vale took the throw in. Baudry clearly caught between both strikers and they score.

Also, the ref and lino from the away leg deserve some blame as well for missing that hands above the head handball

So, who’ll be available to replace Jake Young? Isn’t it about time season-long loans are just that.

I’ll go Danny Johnson from Walsall.

Of course, Bradford’s manager was the one who wanted rid of Kemp when he was manager at Franchise. Maybe Kemp will mark Young’s card!

Straw clutching.

Won’t matter as Bradford will cash in on Young.

Young will go to P’boro.
Rather than Bradford paying us whatever they have to for ending the season long loan in January - they’ll agree with P’boro to send us Wakeling on loan as compensation.

That will complete the Jacob/Jake:Swindon/P’boro/Bradford circle

Clubs would just replace it with 2 x 6 months loans if it gave no option.
Tbh, the terms should always favour the players club. I have no problems with season loans finishing early.
We have got a player who is top scorer for cheap for 6 months who if he was on this form we would have had no chance of signing.
It's down to the club to build.on what young has given us and replace accordingly.
The reason why town fans qet a bit pissed is we very rarely benefit from our players on loan- we recalled twine I think and most others we would like to not come back.

Tyreece Simpson could be a possibility as he hasn’t got much game time at Northampton so I’d expect Huddersfield would be pretty pissed at how that loan deal has gone.
