Still a player in there for me providing we don't try and convert him to a wing back. Could be a useful impact sub this season.

If I was Wakeling, in my second year with the club and a critical one for my career, I'd be very upset if that was thrust upon me.  It will fuck his development up the more we play him there, like Iandolo.

Looks like a weakness in the squad currently.

Still lacking a physical presence in midfield and something different up top, assuming these all go through.

Always assumed we'd sign 6 or 7 first teamers, so getting close/  Think we have a competitive starting XI but still not a promotion winning one, and the back-up strength remains lower mid table.

That is assuming all the incoming are first team top half quality of course.  Being a long distance supporter, tricky to really know until I get to see them on iFollow.

Think the physical presence in midfield will be Kinsella, appreciate he may not have the size and stature of an Anthony Grant but from the cameo on Saturday he looks great at high pressing, winning tackles and shifting the ball onto others, cannot see us signing another player in that role.

I'm not discounting him being useful in a "destroyer" type role, but we still have five very similar sized and styled players in there to choose from.  We, in my opinion, lack something "different".  What I am hoping for is a 6ft plus type player, who can get about a bit.  We may never get that piece of the puzzle, in which case my current assessment, before a ball is kicked, is we look light in there, of a top 3/7 team over the course of a full season.

Same up top - we have three to choose from who all play a similar role, even if a little different in style.  We do not have a change-up type player there though and Austin will not play 90 mins of every match.  We have enough when everyone is fit and raring to go, we are light of what you need to sustain a challenge, as things stand.

LWB - well, we have nobody other than a permanently injured player and a fill in who may be departing or an oddity of a player in Shade, who would not be on my team sheet if asked to select a squad for promotion from L2.

To be clear, I am not saying we don't.  I just think we lack something different in a few positions - when players are not on form, the plan is not working or we have injuries and suspensions.

At the moment we seem to have recruited players for one formation - lets hope there is some players coming on that can play a variety of positions for when we need to change formation

I don't disagree, it would be especially nice to have some 'wide' attacking players, like McKirdy/Barry we had a couple of years ago.

However i believe Flynns back up formation isn't quite as radically different as you would think. His back up is a 4132 (diamond midfielder essentially) so its really swapping a CB for a midfielder.

I am not sure sport is his thing, doesn't appear the body is designed for it.

I’m sure it’s minor things but I wonder what the hold up is on all 3. Can understand 1 or 2
