I remember Young from a few years back at FGR having a bit of a scoring blip. Only just 22, 6ft2 and has made a bit of a career of coming off the bench so far. He obviously did enough for Mark Hughes to pay money and give him a 3 year contract.

Could be ideal as a different option as a 3rd or 4th choice.

Not sure if I’m being too harsh because it might be a case of it’s the best we can find at the moment but having two players on loan from rival clubs in our division gives me a nightmare thinking about Jan 1st if we’re doing well, they’ll both be recalled straight away.

Although I guess that’s true with loans from higher divisions as well E.g KKH, Simpson and Crichlow
Yeah it isn't ideal. Hopefully we can keep hold of or bring in the same quality if the worse does happen. I wouldn't be shocked if Young ends up a perm though as they were willing to let him go it seems

Whi has evidence of Young in the stands? I've seen the first lad in the stands, but not Young

I’m sure someone said this earlier in the thread.

Godwin Malife and Jake Young were in the directors box watching the game apparently. Boo has tweeted a picture of the Young Ones.

Yeah, nightmare if they become vital players ala Yates & Doyle.

On the flip side - if they are gash hopefully we can send them back and try again.

Don’t forget the FBT came from a ‘lowly’ team and he was our best player last year.

It’s less of a question of ability, more a question of their recall status. Burton never really wanted to keep FBT and had other targets so facilitating a permanent move to us in Jan suited everyone. If Kemp sets the world on fire here then it’s likely MK look at him and recall him in January even if they’re flying themselves. Young seems less like that tbf as seems Bradford want rid completely but if we’re up there competing with Bradford in Jan and Young is ripping up trees here then they’d be silly not to recall him to shaft us.

A lot of hypotheticals and time between now and then though, tomorrows problem.

I don’t think Kemp fits the type of player their current manager wants. So, it’s unlikely they will want him back for anything other than spite.

I suppose it’s a case of wait and see isn’t it? If we look like we are doing ok then it was. If not then it wasn’t.

It’s a rather conflicting argument anyway tbh, the last lad we had on trial who joined FGR after being released by them we were led to believe we’re offering more than us, now this lad has turned down their offer to come here and the same for Jake Young it seems according to their local reports

Same situation with Walsall, centre half joins them we say they must be spending more and Kinsella leaves them for us

Don’t think any of us really know do we

I still find it odd Burton had no interest in FBT coming back up them last January.

Or… if he does well, they may be able to get a few quid for him in January….

With the forest Green kiddie, it’s not who we’re spending it on (he seems a good player on the face of things) it’s that we’re having to trade him for Lavinier. We’re light at full/wing back, and even if we werent I think a competitive side has him as depth at the very least

Young has a very uninspiring CV, but would be coming in at second fiddle and I’m less worried about. It’s more the fact that we can’t get a centre back in without getting rid of Lavinier

For the record the whole trading him thing is a rumour made up (tans will confirm) it just shows how one person saying it can be seen as gospel
