I think they released him and he'd be a permanent signing, if what I read is correct.

The kind of summer signing we used to see more of - a youth team player released from a Premier League side.

Do we need a RB? Subject to selling one of the ones we have of course.

I'd rather have a proper LB than have Lavinier having to play LB as well.

I would be happy with a perm signing, last I heard was Bournemouth were going to ffer him a new contract according to their forum.

If we do sign him queue the Hutton is off rumours again.

If hes available and still wants to come then worth a punt, at least it wouldnt be a loan.

Was he going to be a Morris or Sandro signing?

Possibly a Clayton type signing, wouldn't be bad but still think we would need an experienced CB

It sounds like i am slagging Hutton off and i am not it is just more a observation really but i would still cash in and get a half decent RB and LB.

Everything we do as a team good and bad goes through him and it leaves us just so predictable in my opinion. Mark him out the game last year and we were awful and to top it off they would also target him as he is very week. I wouldn't be opposed to a new RB or Laviner there tbh with some cash in the bank

If you could use Hutton money to get a LB and RB that together offer at least the 12 assists hutton did then, yes having the variety of attack makes sense.

What makes more sense is keeping hutton and getting a LB that can add to that.

Hutton would be a massive loss in my opinion, not withstanding his defensive weakness.

I'd keep Hutton but I think I agree with your assessment of predictable and good/bad going through him.

I see the predictability as a squad failing though, not a Hutton issue

It would be but if we predominantly signed punts in the window i would be as worried, my thought process would be to add him a few more senior signing like the one we been linked with this week and go from there. Even if he comes in as cover and Liv is first choice RB it would make sense to me

100% agree and in an ideal world i would take that but i think we do need to also be realistic and think longer term. Does Hutton want to stay for example the club may have an idea already that he will move on free in 12 months etc.

All guess work of course but has to be taken into consideration

I reckon this tedious transfer window is just a ruse to get people to attend the friendly v Plymouth to relieve the fucking boredom.

God knows what criteria Flynn uses before deciding whether to offer a contract or not.
