Perfection is not attainable

Personally thought Reed was a great player, broken by a mixture of Lindsey and a contract dispute.
Add to that homesickness too apparently.

From what Walsall fans have said of Kinsella, it feels very similar to how Iandolo was rated here. Solid, if unspectacular, always gave 100%, and was valued for his long service at the club. His stats reflect a very competent L2 defensive midfielder, which is fine, as hopefully with Kemp and perhaps one more midfield addition, we will have enough creative players around him.

I get what you are saying but with respect to Iandolo he was never anywhere near player of the year with us and Kinsella was twice names POTY there, that suggests more than just solid to me.

Kinsella holding to push Khan further forward would work for me. He definitely has an eye for a goal and was a bit of a liability at times turning into players with the ball deep.

I agree with all that.
The problem is whether Flynn would rather have McEachran in his starting 11.
The 3-5-2 only gives is 3 midfielders. Kemp looks like being a 10.

All positives as we are crying out for depth and players challenging for their position.

For me I would drop Khan who at times is an utter liability, I would have a midfield 3 of Kinsella sat deeper behind Kemp and McEachran both in the more advanced roles with RHM and Austin up top (currently).

Iandolo didnt win multiple player of the seasons, or play 30+ games consistently every season, or feature in the top section of players for any stat (tackles/interceptions), well certainly not positive ones.

These two players are completely different.

Its funny, i see Khan as the one being dropped for Kinsella. Flynns prefered 2 sitting midfielders and a number 10 has Kemp clearly as the number 10. IF Kinsella joined its 2 of 3 from him Khan/McEachran.

From my POV, and I could be completely wrong, he won it in two dreadful seasons for Walsall where they likely gave it to the player who gives 100%, local lad etc. I could be wrong of course, and it’s a positive he won those awards as I’m sure he was still decent, but slightly wary that Walsall were dreadful in those two seasons.

You mean a stat paddler?

…one that can tackle as well…

Not comparing them as players, comparing the reviews Iandolo had here, compared to Kinsella at Walsall as fairly similar.

Yes....well at least we have company when we are either right or wrong on this!

I have been to the friendlies and i think almost every time i have listened to Flynn shout at 'Saidou' for not playing the ball he should. I think half the crowd laughed at it when it happened at Supermarine.

Just think McEachran is more reliable, moves the ball quicker and is less of a liability.

Yeah I think personally whoever comes in at DMC, it’ll be Khan dropped out initially with the new DMC alongside McEachran and Kemp at number 10.

However for tougher tests away from home I can see a midfield with Khan and McEachran sat slightly ahead of a new DMC and the 10 dropped out or moved wide and one of the strikers dropped.

All personal opinion of course.

McEachran also has a brilliant ability to win tackles, especially on opposition counters.

Yeah he is pretty tenacious and puts himself about, despite being small. Far more than i think Khan does honestly.
