His highlights reel is all about going forward. Not a single challenge or piece of defensive work in sight:

So, although he might be 'hairy' he isn't a 'hairy-arsed defender'!

He really likes the big switch cross field diagonal  doesn't he!

It’s difficult to see where else Hutton would play other than RWB, so perhaps we are in planning for his departure with Genesini (if it’s him). Edwards - just what the doctor ordered (if he is any good, of course)! We need a brute.

Won't pretend to know anything about Ryan Edwards but he has a good solid, sterady number of appearances under his belt which is a positive sign...

ignoring the loans early in his career...

2014–2017   Morecambe   111   (2)
2017–2019   Plymouth Argyle   61   (Cool
2019–2020   Blackpool   21   (1)
2020–   Dundee United   86   (8

Just hope (if true) that we we don't get out bid by Barrow....or Supermarine...or some other lower/non league power house...

We still need a LWB though don’t we?

I’m not a fan of playing right sided players on the left (and vice versa). Upsets the balance of the side and really limits us going forwards. The Bournemouth player seems to be right sided.

I agree with you but making the point we still need a WB - so can see why we would be looking at some still

Burton Albion are also interested.
Burton have signed 3 defenders already this window including 2 CB's (2 defenders on the same day this last week).

They also have an ex Liverpool defender on trial. https://the72.co.uk/2023/07/18/league-one-club-casting-eyes-over-defender-after-liverpool-release/

Hopefully he would choose us if we can guarantee him a starting slot. He is very similar to MacDonald, good in the air, not very fast, captain of his last club, aged 29 when signed (if he does sign) and is a cancer survivor.

That's scarily similar to Macdonald, it's uncanny really, what are the chances! (assuming he does sign)
