Be a relatively competent Jack Payne/Jonny Williams replacement however. You'd probably almost certainly not need Ronan Darcy or Ricky Aguiar anymore.

Will be interesting to see how Aguiar goes this season. Had a very promising first season here, but limited opportunities last season. By all accounts, seems to be highly rated by many within the club, however, really needs to start pushing on

We gave him a three year contract last summer and then bombed him out almost immediately, which suggests differing views from members of the hierarchy at the time!

Aguiar had a really good run of games - the highlight the 5-0 win at home to Walsall - but then he was awful at Bradford and we never really saw him again.

I reckon there is a half decent talent if utilised properly.

I’m not sold on Aguiar. A few flashes in a few games aside, he seems like a regional level NL player

Feel if we played a 3421 and had 2 x floating 10's behind the frontman, he could be really dangerous with his edge of box striking ability and knack of arriving in the box at a decent time. Other than that, feel from what's been seen so far he'd continue to be bit of a passenger and unable to influence the midfield.

Did anyone listen to Jamie Russell on the Broadbent Lounge Twitter Space thing last night? Any talk of first team transfers or was it a broader interview?

Was a broader interview but did mention that 1st team football signings etc he won't really get involved in the signings and that hos role is more mid to long term

Any actual transfer rumours?

Cash wise i think we all need to get real- anything the club has will go into the redevelopment i can see only scraps left for the first team

Don't seem to be any, or any whispers of a transfer today. Would be a nice surprise morale boost though.

Having checked, by tomorrow (15th July) of last year, we'd signed 12 of our total of 19 summer signings - but not three of the more experienced heads in MacDonald, FBT and Jephcott.

Didn't 'dogs' say we were announcing 2 today? Or was that a piss-take?

The redevelopment will invariably funded by borrowing.
