It's a shame to have missed out on a promotion winning captain, but may work out better in the end. Exact same profile as Clayton and would have led to 3/4 of our starting CBs being left footed so would have been a bit unbalanced. Flynn couldn't have been that keen for him to have come in on trial with his background and pedigree. Flynns also keen for more height at the back, something which he wouldn't have provided. Straw clutching nonetheless but it's not the end of the world.

Or he didn’t fit into what we are looking for?

we'll never know, but id bet our wage structure is on the low side given what's happened to the squad and the need to save 500k a year

Plus I think Debrah is about to Barnsley or Carlisle
Hasn’t yet, though.

It’s not a great look for the club if we lose one our only trialists to a smaller club in the local vicinity. He wouldn’t have had to uproot so can’t blame location. It may be that it was our choice or his wage demands were silly. Either way it feels like we may have missed out on a decent player there. Trying not to panic but it all feels a bit uncomfortable. It reminds me a lot of Sunderland til I die season one where the club kept missing out on transfer targets and then ended up getting relegated  Sad

We have to assume Flynn was happy with the budget when he accepted the job just have to hope there's still quality players out there which haven't been snapped up.

He wouldn’t be the first trialist that a manager has decided against signing, and he won’t be the last. Why is it suddenly a big deal? Everyone just needs to relax and stop assuming the worst all the time.

It’s the same with all the discussions about the club not having a secretary and whatever else behind the scenes, everyone always jumps to the worst conclusion, we must be skint etc and then today we’ve found out it’s all been in hand.

Just chill the fuck out. We put a team together 2 weeks before the season 2 years ago and got in the play offs, there’s no rush. Flynn will get this right.

as I said before, I'm wondering if wages are an issue for the type of players some of us would like to see.

But we know we are unlikely to be able to match FGR for money, but with this particular player we got unlucky Disordely left and the door reopened.

As is said every year, we will make signings. We will see which way they go.

Crawley and Morecambe are in enough of a mess that we should be safe from that...

We will not be nowhere near the relegation zone. Even that team we put out saturday would finish mid table imo easily

Yeah I don’t think we will get relegated but the way things are unfolding did remind me of Sunderland til I die. We will be okay.
