I'm not excited by Austin at all. His legs are gone. Its not the right move for the club at all.

Hope to be proved wrong.

Does this stop the Jephcott move going through? I certainly don't see the two of them playing together
I'd be well fucked off if I were Jephcott and we changed the way we play to accommodate Austin after not doing exactly the same which was required to play to Jephcott's strengths.

Would be just plain odd.

the whole mood about whether we are signing jephcott seems to have changed recently.

Whether that's linked to Austin or not, who knows.

I can't imagine he's living the vision he was sold when he signed

I said to a friend yesterday that Lindsey gives me similar vibes to Sheridan.
He seems a bit tactically inept, does lots of shouting and comes across like he doesn’t expect to be questioned and I have a feeling players don’t want to play for him, so the likes of Jephcott or FBT will leave when they can.

I am probably way off but it’s the vibe I’m getting.

Who does the style of play suit? Hutton maybe? Even he would prefer a quick ball. It almost seems to intentionally nullify everyone’s strengths. Get Austin in for 6 months. Sign Jephcott (I’d choose Jephcott if it was between the two). And get a new manager, as an absolute priority.

Was it the money or are you implying something else?

If - and unfortunately it’s a big if - we replace Lindsey, I’d imagine Clem would still go for a similar type. Manning who’s just been sacked by Franchise or some other academy coach. No way would he go for an experienced, proper manager such as Wellens. We’d get more of the same tippy tappy, possession at all costs nonsense. Fundamental change is needed. Personally I’m done with the dirge that was/is Garner/Lindsey ball.

This is exactly where my head is at too. Gives me Phil Brown vibes where their teams just have absolutely no redeeming features and look tactically inept. If I could see some work in progress for potential, bit like in Wellens first few months, I'd be absolutely fine, but there is just...nothing. Absolutely nothing about Lindsey's tactics or coaching. Feels like we are just meandering through mediocrity until it's okay to ditch him.

Sandro said on the radio yesterday we have Jephcott on a season loan with the option to buy him In January. He followed on by saying we don't have do do anything next month which suggests that their either unsure, can't reach agreement on a fee, the player isn't happy or maybe the Austin saga has thrown all the original plans!

Whether it's Austin or Jephcott or another, if we stick with 433 we will still need a left footed CM upgrade on Iandolo and a Right Wing upgrade on Shade.

As well as FBT signing, and then Gladwin and Clayton being fit.

Maybe some extra attacking cover. And then some decent coaching on chance creating.

Not too much to ask is it?!..
