Now if they offered him as a permanent transfer as part of the deal that would be something to think about

Although I’ll assume right now wages would be an issue

He’s not too keen on moving back to England by all accounts. Good to know we’re looking at a perm rather than a loan.

One of the Hibs fans says he’s not keen on McKirdy because L2 is a woeful standard - the same league they signed Doidge from!

Hibs fans...

Quote
Doidge apparently refusing to leave hibs and wants to nail down a starting place, it’s just not going to happen he’s nowhere near the player he was 2 seasons ago be best for both parties if he moves on because his game time under Lj is going to be very limited

If mckirdy is coming in fair enough.
But in terms of doidge going ,would that not leave us needing a striker who holds up play and knocks the ball down for the faster more mobile players around.
Unless we are bringing one in to replace the big man I think it would hamper our versatility up top.
That’s why I don’t see mckirdy deal having anything to do with doidge at all personally.
Mckirdy seems as though he might be an interesting signing though if it comes off.

Looks like if we offer Doidge perm + cash then it's a deal.

Doidge has no interest in leaving for England by all accounts so any deal involving him is unlikely I’d imagine.

This is all coming from their end though isn't it? It sounds like crap to me. League 2 is a woeful standard as well.

I know Doidge knocked the ball down to Campbell on Saturday, but if Doidge stays, we still need someone who holds the ball up and knocks the balldown for others, as he wont be playing much due to him being poor to awful for months, and way off the standard needed for a target man like described.

Doidge wih Mckirdy and Wakeling either side sounds decent, but probably unaffordable.

Wouldn't want to swap Harry for an expensive 30 year old target man though, not sure that makes any sense on the pitch or financially.

Harry is entertaining on and off the pitch, players like that are very rare.    Sometimes we forget watching football is supposed to be fun.

If Brynn continues this form he'll be hooked away at short notice in Jan.   A decent permanent back up is a must.  Will ward get more first team footy anywhere else?   Can do a job in league 2 but may have to drop down a level.

Recalled for what reason? they have 3 first team goalkeepers already. 2 of which they have only just purchased.

Unless you mean they're going to do a KKH and loan him to league one?

I'd of thought after last year we might hold more cards in loan negotiations and I HOPE somewhere we have an agreement that we do genuinely have him for the full season.

If bryn gets recalled then we need to replace him with a better keeper than ward anyway, because ward isn’t good enough. It’s a moot point

Yeah, he’s fine as a short term backup in a pinch. Not to rely on over an extended period. He’s Phil Smiths 2022 reboot

Sheridan put paid to that for most Town fans.

Season long loans don't exist in reality, all loan contracts have a January recall clause in.  That's been discussed many times before and works both ways.

Last year all of our good loans (Simpson, kkh, crichlow) got recalled and sent to league 1 to either play or sit on the bench or in Simpsons case train with the kids.  The shite or injured ones get sent back (Gilbert) .

Why would this year be any different?

Agreed, if Brynn carries on impressing then he will be recalled and sent to L1 to continue his progress, if though he has 1 or 2 poorer games in the first few months then maybe that will help us retain his services for the entire season, also it depends if the player wants to stay for the season.
