just stood behind Mbappe at Greggs in Newcastle City Centre etc'

Which one there are about 200 of them in Newcastle City Centre!

As for Hunt, am I imagining it but didn't one of the interviews on Loathed Strangers suggest that he is London based and a bit of a family homebird, cannot see Wrexham being that attractive?

Today will be a real marker of what our intent this season is too. If this was last season, we would see Hunt go and no replacement, and no striker (or Omotoye…). This season, I hope we either see Hunt stay or him go for £££ with a good replacement in, and a proven striker. Get those, and we might assure ourselves that we’re aiming for more than survival. Or maybe we need those to deal with a points deduction!

If the money was good for Hunt and we could bring in a proper left back i would do the deal. We of course need that striker.  With the embargo we cant sign anyone for a fee thou can we. So its not like we can get 200k for Rob Hunt and then pay that for a striker as were not allowed.

Saido Berahino is returning to England after a 2 year spell in Belgium. Another of the Ben Garner alumni. No way we should even be entertaining this signing as it is highly unlikely, but the fact he was coached by Garner makes me wonder if there is a slim hope a la Johnny Williams. One of those signings where he could realistically end up anywhere from the Championship to League Two

If there was deemed to be a replacement the money would go a long way towards paying off the embargo shackles for January though.

I believe Wrexham are trying to sign a RB called Bryce Hosannah from Leeds. That could have a bearing whether they go for Rob Hunt as well.

Seems to have a rather big attitude problem, not sure that's what we need, especially as the squad seems to have knitted fairly well to date.

Was Berahinho the main subject of the transfer windows? Didn't he drive himself somewhere to force a transfer once or something?

Tozer is a hoofball long throw donkey, Hunt is a far better footballer than Tozer, hike the fee until Wrexham are desperate, £250k should do it.

As for funds for a striker, we can't pay a transfer fee for a player and are still limited to around £1,500pw(give or take) wage as thats all part of the Embargo.

Players monetary value hasn’t been based on ability for about 20 years now.

A less player with a longer contract will be worth more than a better player on a shorter contract.

Think that was Peter Odemwingie, although Berahinho was supposed to go on to great things but never got his head down and worked hard enough for a move I think.

The main thing I remember Berahino for was Tony Pulis doing a Pitman-esque repeated name shouting on a Sky game once. No doubt the old TEF Autocorrect will be twitching...

You are right, it was Odemwingie.

Berahino's main activity in recent years seems to have been getting pulled for drink driving on a fairly regular basis.

If the Garner/Chorley model is repeated from earlier I expect they know exactly who they want but we will have no idea who is incoming till they are signed.
