As we’re still under umbongo the transfer window shutting for perm transfers really doesn’t affect us as we can only sign players who are without a club anyway - and we can sign them outside of the transfer window.
Loans can’t be done either after Tuesday can they?

I thought for lower leagues, loans continued for about another fortnight or something like that. Unsure of the length of window or even if it is an option this year.

Loans and perms window closes on 31st August this year. Other than out of contract players.

Just watched Norton when he played for Stoke vs Donny last week. Didn't see him touch it in the highlights and looked to have been subbed.

As stated above, all deals must be completed by 11pm on 31st August for transfers of contracted or loan players.
After this date we can still sign players who were out of contract before that deadline freely still.

Based on nothing at all I have a feeling we won't bring in anyone by tomorrow evening. If need be I think we can bring in a free agent or worst case scenario sign someone in January, hopefully when our embargo is sorted etc.
Players like Kieran Agard are still without a club, (rumoured to be going to Tranmere) not sure if this potentially puts us in a better position to negotiate contracts as players surely need to start earning to pay bills etc.

I still don't understand why the transfer window stays open until the end of August. All business should be concluded the day before the season starts after six weeks of pre season which is long enough to decide who you want in & out.

We still have 2 loans left right?
I'll be amazed if we don't use those to get in a Striker and Defender before tomorrow night.
You may as well write Baudry off at this point. Not reliable at all. Means we have 3 centre halves for the entire season. Albeit Grant can fill in if necessary.
If anything happens to Simpson, we're pretty doomed.
Would be quite disappointed if nothing happens today / tomorrow.

I dont mind Baudry and wouldn't write him off. However i completely agree that 2 bodies are needed, a left sided player, preferably one that can play wing back/or wide midfield. If its a back 4 then Hunt is fine at LB, or even Crichlow if others fill in at CB. And we defo need another striker. With 2 loan slots open i will be appalled if they are not used.

I had forgotten Baudry, and Lyden, for that matter were even still around. I cant see either of them playing much of a part in all honesty. I think we have enough cover in defence to leave that until Jan. We do need another striker for sure though now. I would prefer an experienced player though.

We could do with a Paul Benson or Marc Richards type striker. Bit older but with plenty of experience and knows their way around the penalty area or 6 yard box.

Scott Kashket a striker has been released by Wycombe so he can join a different club. Wycombe fans loved him and could be a work in progress for the Ben's. 25 year old.
